Happy 4th of July, everyone! It's that time of year again when comic artist all across this land of ours are compelled to draw Captain America and his mighty shield. (Those who oppose his mighty shield must yield!) But I thought I'd change things up just a little bit and decided to draw the Sam Wilson version. And considering everything going on in the ol' US of A at the moment, the decision just seemed especially appropriate.
Interesting side note regarding the Speed Drawing video I did to go along with this image - due to the amount of detail and design and just generally difficult things to draw here, I ended up with just a little over four hours of video before editing. To put that in perspective, most of the times when I do these things, I end up in the ballpark of 1 - 1.5 hours, maybe 2 if it's an especially long one. So when I started speeding this thing up, I really didn't know how well it was going to turn out. To my surprise, it's actually pretty smooth and not at all vomit-inducing as I feared it would be. It did lead to a couple funny little quirks, however, such as the initial stick figure-style layout already being more or less done by the time the fade in is complete. lol Anyway, I think it's a pretty cool one, so be sure to check it out HERE!
