My favorite drama series of all time (w/Breaking Bad, slightly behind)! Have watched the series several times over, but it’s been a minute until now. Became a fan of you guys on YouTube and it got to the point that I needed that uncut version of your vids and pitch in to keep ya’ll goin. Let me say, my days at work have been really trying for a minute, but when I see that you all put something up (Especially the next episode of The Wire), it gets me hyped! Appreciate you both! Keep doing your thing and you two are such a dope couple! Love ya’ll!

OK, so to answer your question, the series follows McNulty’s career, mostly but also the rest of the original wire tap team.

You guys should watch this again at some point. Seems like you missed a lot. Not talking shit. I did too. I got a lot more of the story the second time around.

Ah, yes, there it is: The renowned sound of Omar Little's iconic whistle, as he is still pullin' the same ol' hustlin' & stuntin' all in (the name of) "The Game"! Except, instead, there is one difference in how now he be doin' his typical rippin' & runnin' up in the southern portion of the Bronx borough located within NYC — ya know, as opposed to being back at home down in his own stomping grounds of the "Four-One-Oh" area code affectionately known as "B4LT1M0RE", MD.

To expand upon my earlier comment — and since you two do indeed seem to love & get down to the Season 1 version every time it plays (LOL!) — here is an additional note regarding the theme song(s) from each respective season of 'The Wire', which I have included below as an excerpt via an entry written on Wikipedia:
" 'Way Down in the Hole' is a song written by the singer-songwriter Tom Waits. It was included on his 1987 album Franks Wild Years...
...The song was used as the theme for HBO's 'The Wire'. A different recording was used each season. Versions, in series order, were recorded by The Blind Boys of Alabama [Season 1], Tom Waits [Season 2], The Neville Brothers [Season 3], DoMaJe [Season 4], and Steve Earle [Season 5].
The Season 4 version, performed by Baltimore teenagers Ivan Ashford, Markel Steele, Cameron Brown, Tariq Al-Sabir and Avery Bargasse, was arranged and recorded specifically for the show. "
By the way, Steve Earle (the aforementioned performer of the version used as the theme song for Season 5 intros) is already present in Season 1, as an actor in the show. He portrays Waylon, the character who was just recently introduced as Bubbles' newfound friendly buddy from the addiction group meetings that they both attend.

Just an FYI to prepare y'all (sans spoilers, so no worries there) for what is to come from this point forward:
"Each season of 'The Wire' focuses on a different institution within Baltimore, exploring its relationship to law enforcement and the broader societal issues of the city, in this order: drug trade, the port system, city government, the school system, and the print news media.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Season 1: The illegal drug trade and the Baltimore police's efforts to combat it, focusing on the Barksdale organization and the Westside.
Season 2: The port system and the decline of the American working class, exploring the challenges faced by longshoremen and the impact of globalization on the city.
Season 3: City government and bureaucracy, examining the inner workings of city hall, the political landscape, and the influence of corruption.
Season 4: The school system and education, focusing on the struggles of students, teachers, and the broader issues of poverty and inequality within the city's schools.
Season 5: The print news media and the role of journalism in shaping public opinion, exploring the dynamics of the newspaper industry and its impact on the city."

When I first saw this show almost 20 years ago, my favorite part was listening to the end credits song, The Fall by Blake Leyh at the end of every episode. It got me so amped up for the next episode. I'm only on episode 5 with you right now, but I hope you have done that at least once.

My favorite part of the reaction: BJ: Everyone getting promoted! Scene change: Poot telling the dealer not to take money and serve. The parallels between the street and the police are one of the greatest things about this show I’m so happy you loved season 1 and are going to keep going ❤️

He's confessing to all the murders because he's already getting life. It protects everyone else. It's not like he's going to be punished more. Also with the scene towards the end where the dude was selling in the projects. It was the same thing that he was told to do in the 1st episode.

One thing crazy I learned is that when Idris Elba auditioned for the part of Stringer Bell, he did the whole thing acting as an American, even the meet and greets and all that. It wasn’t until he got the job that he started talking with the directors and revealed his natural British accent!

Finally, now on season 2, The “Docks”! So without spoiling anything, every season is going to be a little bit different than the previous. But everything gets tied together nicely in a neat package in season 5. Most series kind of lose their luster by the end, but this series is great from beginning to end. Beleave me when I tell you, you haven’t seen anything yet!😉👍🏻
