Nope! Ruth is actually one of the bad guys. She stole from Marty from Day #1. Then she uses the victim card and tries to blame The Byrde’ family for her misfortunes.

It was a garbage line with a horrible character. Ruth is the worst character in this series. Absolutely horrible!!!

I have ZERO empathy for Ruth! She is the worst human being ever...annoying, disrespectful and a dingbat! Her character is horrible.
However, the actress who plays Ruth is Oscar-worthy.

Isn't the actress that plays Ruth great! OMG that is a horrible scene when Darlene and Wyatt got taken out. You knew Ruth would freak out!

I wasn’t sure either way, just thought her Charlotte impression was hilarious!

I almost mentioned that impression! I saw a small clip of the actress who plays Charlotte talking about it. She said Julia called her to apologize about the accent. She said “It’s not me doing it, it’s Ruth!”
Bill, you do know Julia doesn’t have a crazy Ozark accent, right?

“Hi, this is Charlotte Byrde…” 😂
In all seriousness, throughout the series some of the best acting I’ve ever seen.

Every time I see this I’m heartbroken that Ruth had got these seeds to make amends with Darlene for the sake of Wyatt just to find them that way.

Darlene thinks she can do anything including fucking with the cartel?!?! lol It took too long for someone to take her out. Too bad about Wyatt though. But he knew about her itchy trigger finger, he should have left with Ruth.

Every time i need a good eye watering, i watch the last 7 minutes of episode 7. Julia Garner’s acting just breaks me when Ruth goes to the Byrde’s house after finding Darlene & Wyatt

As I told you guys in season 1 episode 2, Ruth Langmore is one of the greatest characters that has ever been written for a nonfictional drama series!!! And Julia Garner has BODIED this character from day 1.

WARNING - SPOILER FOR THIS EPISODE (8):
Ozark is one of those series where you get so caught up in rooting for the protagonists, that you forget they're the bad guys.. Ruth's monologue about Wendy and Marty was almost spot on, though I do feel Marty has a soft spot for her. Wendy was chilling, calling Javi and coaxing him to his death effortlessly, pretty much confirmed for Claire what Ruth was saying.

I'll write out my thoughts after the season ends, but I think trying to cram 2 seasons worth of content in 14 episodes was too optimistic for a slow burn series like Ozark. For example, I feel there's a lot of tension/conflict building that didn't happen between Darlene and Frank, which makes his death less impactful as say Del. Traditionally, they would have had that conflict build over the entirety of a season, with Darlene killing him in episode 9 or 10.. Season 4 has always felt a bit weird because of how fast the story moves, this is still one of the best series I've ever seen and I'd rate it a 9.4/10, but I wish they could have done a season 5 to slow it down.

My gripes with the final season is that the writers kinda wrote themselves into a corner with Darlene and Wyatt, as well as, trying to fill the void of suspense that Agent Roy Petty left with his death.
Writing Darlene the way they did, as a crazy murderer on impulse, left interactions with her less interesting. As Asia and BJ noted, they saw her killing Frank Sr. a mile away. And anything on her end just got too old and predictable. So they needed her out. Wyatt's death, however, did serve to create some storyline and motivation for Ruth, as her involvent in the plot was starting to dry up.
With Mel Sattum, they wanted to recapture the greatness of previous seasons by introducing a snooper into the Byrds affars, similar to how Petty was a foil for them in earlier seasons. They're both unhinged, bold, unrelenting and most importantly, clever. But it seems they really couldn't get us to feel for him as much as we did for Petty.
Of course, these are just critiques. I still enjoyed watching the final season. One love ya'll. ✌️

Julia Garner (Ruth) is such an amazing actress. She totally deserved the 3 Emmys she won for best supporting actress. I *think* they were for seasons 2, 3 and 4. Heck, she deserved an Emmy for that accent alone! 🤣

I think it’s interesting that last episode, Wyatt was digging that grave. What a coincidence that he did dig his own grave by staying with Darlene. Great time watching as always ❤️

Lol at BJ's face everytime Darlene & Wyatt kiss!😅. I feel bad for Wyatt, but Darlene's death was way to quick for all the dirt she's done over the years.
