Kona Guardians Theme Song
Added 2020-02-21 18:01:00 +0000 UTC(I told myself I wasn't going to share this until I made actual progress on Issue 2. Well, I finally finished the script, am getting notes from my editors, and will probably start drawing in the next couple of days, so I'd say that counts!)
So, around the time the first issue of Kona Guardians came out, I had this kinda random, crazy idea - wouldn't it be cool if the series had a theme song? I mean, one of the most iconic aspects of Power Rangers was it's rad theme song, so I thought it would be fun if my little pastiche had one too.
Now, I have absolutely zero musical talent. I make up little songs about my family's dogs and even THEY look at me like "you're so lucky you feed us, dude". So, if this was going to happen, I'd have to commission something from a professional. I put some feelers out at the time, but I never really heard back much of anything; and, not really knowing where to go from there, the thought faded over time.
Then recently, by complete happenstance, someone I follow on Twitter shared a post from someone ELSE on Twitter announcing they were taking commissions to create music! And when I listened to some of their samples, I knew that the stars had truly aligned!
And so here it is! The Kona Guardians theme song by @GabrielHinton. He was such a friendly guy to work with and his final result still blows my mind weeks later! I definitely recommend you check him out!
