So this image is something of a culmination of various factors all converging at once. First, and most obvious, the new Star Wars movie is coming out. I'm writing this in advanced, but when this post, I should be about half way through my first viewing, and despite some rocky reviews, I'm still pretty excited. Second, I had a few technical difficulties with the GI Joe print I'm working on this month. I don't really want to get into details at the moment, but for reasons beyond my control, I had to wait over a week to start coloring it; and with the other monthly poll art already done, I was left with some bonus time to draw whatever I wanted. Third, I got to thinking the other day about how one of my more popular images on Deviant Art is a commission I did of Padme from the prequel trilogy wearing a Return of the Jedi style gold bikini. Despite being an older work at this point, it still gets a handful of faves every week, mostly from folks clearly into BDSM stuff; and I thought it might not only be fun but also smart business to do something catering to them. Fourth, thought I never watched Rebels, I've been watching clips of it lately online, and one particularly interesting scene was adult Ahsoka confronting Darth Vader and confirming that he's really her former master. In the show it ended with a big lightsaber battle, but I got to thinking about what other directions it could have gone in.lol And, finally, you won't see it until I start posting the monthly poll art, but I've been coloring a few things lately with a leather/latex texture, and I feel like I'm starting to get a real knack for it, so I felt like doing some more.
