No Country for Old Men

Asia is right on describing Chigurh as "invincible," cuz in the novel the movie is based on that character is basically unkillable. He's less a man and more a force of nature that no one can stop or understand.

Good summation. Death is a certainty for us all no matter in which manner it comes. I don't know why, but this movie always reminds me about the series "Six Feet Under". The opening to each episode always makes you think hard!

I think it's about violence, how it can be random or on target. I think the hitman was just that, a hitman. No morals to speak of. He shot anyone who saw him or connected him to any of the crimes in any way. He was a gun for hire. He worked for the people who were paying him and that was it. He didn't care about anything else. He was what he was, dealing death on coin flips period. In fact I was thinking at the end he kept watching the young boys on the bikes in his rearview mirror. I pretty much figured he was going to stop and shoot them because they were witnesses to him coming out of that house and driving away. I also thought it was very odd that there was no gunshot heard so I was not sure if Carla Jean made it or not. Lewellen was a unfortunate example of what happens when greed overtakes you. I think this film also shows a struggle for dignity, in death, in life, old age, and people facing their own mortality. It makes what happens at the end kind of moot. Tommy Lee Jones character quits because he no longer can understand the world he lives in. Then he dreams about his dad. The first dream is about money and is quickly forgotten, rather like the plot. The second dream is about his dad riding off on horseback into a cold darkness, which is what we all face as we near death.

The title of this movie is actually pretty easy to understand. The very first conversation in the movie is Tommy Lee Jones, talking about the old timers and how they didn’t even carry guns. I guess he was alluding to the fact that it was a lot safer back in the older days. well in this time during the movie, it was a lot more dangerous and you needed a gun. Therefore, this is no country for old men.

lol, That's the best reaction. Save that for the Asia and BJ highlights. 'Time to go". And I think I know why your headphones are having issues. the way Asia jumped out of them is causing some wear and tear. But maybe some computer maintenance is needed. If your using a windows os, hold the windows key down and press R. You'll then have the open run command opened, type in MRT and click yes, and then a full scan. It'll take awhile so do this when your not really going to be using the computer. Defragment your computer as well and that could help or in fact it could be the headphones. I never really had issues with my headphones because I maintenance it all the time. It could also be the jack is loose within the pc itself which requires you to open it up and tighten it back up. Its always fun to troubleshoot pc issues.

The lead actor in this, Josh Brolin, (the guy being hunted), plays Thanos in the Marvel's Avengers movies. He's also in another movie with Tommy Lee Jones (the Sheriff in this). They both play the same character in "Men in Black 3." Josh Brolin plays the younger version of Tommy Lee Jones's character in that movie. He also plays the time traveler in Deadpool 2, which you guys watched a little while ago. Lotta good actors in this film. I think Javier's role as the "hitman" goes without saying.

I've watched this movie multiple times and I am throughly convinced in the third act Tommy Lee Jones at some point while sitting on the bed of the hotel room felt Anton's presence when in fact he was in the closet.
