Most movies, within 15 minutes I can more or less guess the endinonewith this one, more than halfway through, I'm like, "I don't understand..." Guess it's called prisoners cos everybody in it was a prisoner. Feel so bad for Alex now. Man ooh man. He was literally tortured his whole life and rhat old couple fried his brain with LSD and Ketamine. All because your son died of natural causes?? Is cancer a natural cause? 🤷♀️ I still didn't realize the priest killed the father who confessed. Priest was a real one! FYI, I was watching this with my headphones on and my dogs were watching me scream and freak out, wowondering why. 😂😂

Excellent acting by Jake Gyllenhaal, Hugh Jackson, and the rest of the cast who have been in more movies than you realize. There is no way I would have figured out who done it. Except when detective Loki comes to Holly's house at the end I thought the way she was holding the kitchen towel was so strange. Immediately I said she's got a gun! After chewing on it a while I really liked the ending. It's nice when you don't have every single fact shoved in your face. The director allows you to think for yourself. That faint sound of the whistle was so clever. I think because Keller was such a sympathetic character as a father maybe a jury would be a bit more lenient. Just goes to show you can't tell a book by its cover. Especially after he let loose steam in that little closet how many times? There were so many bits and pieces, Easter eggs, and red herrings to make this a super thriller. You had to be on your toes and ready for all the foreshadowing. Which I wasn't. LOL I think this one definitely calls for a second viewing. Great choice guys. PS I agree with those who are suggesting The Prestige as a film to consider. It's another mind-bending suspense with Hugh Jackman along with Christian Bale. What more could you ask for?

I've been watching you guys for a while now, and the only time BJ gets big mad or agitated is when kids are involved in some kind of tragedy. You can tell you're a good family man! The whole time, you're just on the edge of your seat! The end to me is perfection, just so so good! Please watch more Denis Villeneuve movies!

I don't think Viola Davis has ever been in a bad film.. like ever lol.. I'm glad this won because I have seen quite a few people request this movie since I've been a Patreon member. Glad you guys got to experience the stress of this film. Some people have issues with the ending but the way I see it.. Detective Loki got this.. he's gonna find him.. the irony is though.. if he does he's gonna go to prison and if he doesn't find him.. he's a prisoner anyways who's just going to die of starvation.. both outcomes suck.. It's crazy that both girls are rescued and there's still no happy ending. Anyways glad you enjoyed my pick! 😁🥰

I saw it once before closer to when it released and I remembered some of the main plot points, like Hugh Jackman (the father) kidnapping Alex, the abductions of the children & the hole in the ground underneath the car, but that was about all I remembered. Watching it again 11 years after its release only reminded me it still holds up as one of (if not) the best movies from its genre. Jake Gyllenhaal is the lead detective. Hugh Jackman is the father, who is most known for playing Wolverine and Van Helsing.
