I would LOVE to see you guys react to Wicked!

I used to watch this movie every year for years and years. I have the boxed set now with extras. But, if you haven't seen it yet, you really must see OZ, The Great And Powerful. It's a prequil that explains a lot about how OZ got there, where the wicked witches come from, etc. I think it's a great movie. Check it out! It's from 2013, not 1939. Oh, here's some trivia for you, the Wizard of OZ was beaten for an Oscar that year by Gone With The Wind. It seems to have been a good year for movies.

Wizard of Oz was the first movie (or one of the first) to be in color. they used the transition from B&W to color to show the difference between OZ and Kansas. It was a big deal at the time since people hadn't seen color movies yet.

Please do Beetlejuice, especially with the sequel coming out.

Not only were her friends from the farm in Oz, but the woman who was trying to take Toto was the wicked witch. Also at the beginning of the movie the friends all tell her about using her brain, having a heart and having courage when dealing with the mean woman. Great Reaction as usual guys. Loved it. If you want suggestions for older classic movies I recommend Sergeant York

Congratulations, Miss Asia, I’m so glad you are challenging you misconceptions about older, classic films! Now you guys can start to listen to some Judy Garland! Start with, β€œThe Man That Got Away.”

Okay, Asia's realization that the scarecrow, lion, and tin man were Dorothy's farmhand friends had me in stitches. Asia and BJ, there's a lot of interesting background to this movie. Judy Garland -- btw, the mother of Liza Minelli -- was only 16 and yes, that was her singing. There was another actor -- Buddy Ebsen -- who was originally cast as the tin man but he had an allergic reaction to the silver paint and was replaced. The wicked witch -- Margaret Hamilton -- was burned pretty severely during the scenes where she appeared/disappeared in the smoke and flames. All sorts of things and worth reading up on. It should be noted that Judy Garland was treated horribly by the studio. They put her on pills to control her weight which led to lifelong addiction problems and ultimately her early death.
