yeah, this film is great, but I also classify this is 'American History X' lite. I think even if you were able to have asked Singleton, I believe he would have been willing to remake this film in a current context, and he would have had more freedom to drive home his point. But after his passing, now I hope they just leave his films be.

Omar Epps doesn't age!!! This movie was made almost 30 years ago and he looks like he did it a week ago! Anyway, I love both Laurence Fishburne and Ice Cube in this movie. Unfortunately I think Michael Rappaport was written a little two dimensionally, but he did well with what he had. I find it odd that Jennifer Connelly was top billed.

I hope we all had our version of "that one teacher". It was three decades ago, but I'll never forget a teacher who turned on so many lights for me and challenged me with new perspectives. I still remember them with admiration and appreciation. Funny thing is the lessons were life lessons and not so much textbook lessons.

It's definitely a tough watch so many different emotions and what makes it even more weird as you start to feel bad for the bad guy lol it's definitely a roller coaster of a film and definitely not everyone's taste.

If you had the mooola $$ for the Ultimate VIP, what video would you get the fabulous Asia and BJ to watch, and why? Me, I would choose "Tusk" a great (I think possibly horror film) that is CRAZY. Why? Because I think more people need to see this utter weirdness of this film, like wft was Johnny Depp doing in it? And because seeing Asia and BJ's reactions would be absolute gold, AMAZING.
