As it's been mentioned already, the overall message/meaning/whatever of The Matrix trilogy, is that "love" is the one anomaly that can't be quantified or explained with logic. The Architect mentioned that Neo wasn't the first "One" and that it's been a cycle they've created to maintain a working functioning Matrix (as 99% seems to be the best they can manage due to human chaos and complexity).
The difference this time with "The One" is that Neo is in love, unlike his predecessors, and it's completely disrupting and interfering with the machines' rationale and calculations. Everything that they've come to understand and create is being broken by Neo's "power of love" which lets him break the rules of The Matrix (and reality to an extent) to the fullest. Because the power of love transcends everything, or some such corny phrase. Lol

The machines can't love and don't understand it which makes Neo and Trinity so dangerous to the system. Great reaction.

There's also a mini series of animated films called The Animatrix which explain some of the events between the first 2 films. Some of the references in Matrix Reloaded don't make a lot of sense without it. Such as the message from the Osiris, and the Kid in Zion who was following Neo around.

Yeah it'd help with remembering details, but I doubt they have the time with all the reaction vids they're producing plus personal life.

Fun fact, links wife was supposed to be Aaliyah. Obviously due to her unfortunate passing, they casted Marvin Gaye’s daughter.

YES MORE FIGHTS. Suggest Jackie Chan Rumble in the Bronx was his first movie he ever made in America way way before rush-hour. Very nostalgic.

Fun fact: They offered the role of Neo to Will Smith, but he turned it down. He later said something like Keanu was the perfect choice to play Neo.
This movie has so much more action than the first movie. I love all the choreography with the fight scenes.
The Keymaker was also in John Wick. He played the underground doctor who patched up John (Keanu) when he got injured.

Unpopular opinion, but I enjoyed Reloaded and Revolutions. Plot was trippy, but they weren't as bad as people make out. I do recommend watching the next one, to close out the story.

To me, and I think to most people that watched the trilogy in theaters that were of a certain age, expectations from the followups were fairly low. The first was interesting with regard to the technological improvements that the teams developed on top of the original janky Hong Kong martial arts cinema tech, but wasn't exactly the intellectual powerhouse that the Wachowskis really wanted it to be; it was philosophy 101 in 120 minutes basically. A problem that they've had with every single project that they've worked on since, save for Speed Racer which was just pure visual fun with zero thought used or needed. But, still, not bad for two guys that had only made some really terrible lesbian bondage smut disguised as a real film beforehand and found an Invisibles comic to rip off.
As you two noted, one of the huge VFX scenes was the playground scene that looked like a video game...and a dated one at that, even at the time. The dominoes/bowling ball sound effects didn't really help it, but it was hilarious in theater and still is to this day to me. Highway scene was interesting, but again really fell short of delivering the pioneering tech that the franchise really was built upon; CGI was relied upon too much and just wasn't mature enough at the time to carry it unfortunately. Though the CGI fight scenes may have had to do with the fact that during the filming for the original, Keanu Reeves had to have vertebrae fused after an accident which limited his mobility I would guess. So maybe it was a two birds, one stone scenario? Relief for Reeves and an opportunity to test out pure CGI scenes. Who knows.
I'll save any sort of plot analysis for the next one, since this was really conceived as two parts of a single movie. I don't even remember how long the release schedule was for 2/3, but it wasn't anywhere near a full post production cycle on top of additional filming.
And please, PLEASE, stay away from the new one.

I would say in the future, have a rewatch of the previous film a little closer. Other than that great reaction...

Who's Neo? (BJ hides face behind hands). You should make a compilation of the best of your embarrassing moments. Epic!

I could go on and on about the existential nature of the matrix, all its philosophies, biblical undertones, the reasons each program does what it does including Smith... but I won't. I've done it for years lol, nevertheless, I really enjoyed this reaction and the funny yet thorough take at the end. Its exactly what I'm here for and you all delivered exceptionally. Like above can't wait for both epics: Starwars Revenge of the Sith, and now Matrix Revolutions.
Also going to keep shilling No Escape by Owen Wilson, that movie is just too good to pass up.
