Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Comments

There's a ton this movie did not explain. One part that was left out that I particularly liked in the book was as Potter is chasing them at the end, yelling out all his spells, Snape was blocking them and tells him to stop saying the spells out loud, like he was still teaching him.

Jon

Please finish this already lol

Mark

lets finish up the series soon

Miguel Gutierrez

Please finish Harry Potter I'm begging haha. Finishing Harry Potter over Christmas and New Years will in bring way more patreons and views than christmas movies too! It has an enormous fanbase, as big as LOTR, I'm surprised you stopped so long ago :(

Tara L

8 weeks... 8 movies... not too hard

Ragan

Please finish Harry Potter quickly! I bought patreon hoping to watch all the shows but also all the full length Harry Potter movies (at once, I kinda binge watch sometimes).

Tara L

oof, 6th months after the first one. should we expect the final two by the end of next year?

Ragan

Kind of agree with you. A lot of the camera work wasn't great either.

ZealValHarriah

I feel like this movie is one of those transition movies. it preps you for whats to come in the next ones. In this moving i honestly felt bad for Draco. Eventhough he's an ass, you can tell that something isnt right with him. He seemed like he was in a dark place all year. There were times you could see or hear him crying, sitting alone with dark eyes like he didnt sleep. then at the end, like you said, he was just so scared Voldamort would kill him and he had no choice. The funny thing is the actor who plays Draco, Tom Felton, is the nicest guy ever and he loves everything Harry Potter.

Mary

The book was better than the movie. Its always hard to put so much detail in a feature film.

Dan Gershgol

yeah, so,...that wand look familiar to you BJ?

Dan Gonya

Snape's Mother was called Eileen Prince :) his father was Tobias Snape and abusive, but he loved his mother, so Prince worked well for him for the Half blood Prince nickname but its his blood name either way. Not just a name he gave himself :)

SilverDoe🎔

Half blood Prince. Snape is a half-blood with a muggle and a wizard parent. One of which had the surname Prince. I don't think they explain it as well in the movies, but try and remember the events at the end of his movie, as not all is as it seems but you don't get to find out why till near the end of the last movie when the secrets come out.

Michael Paddon

The weakest of the Potter movies. Two hours of teen drama to get 30 minutes of plot development. It looked like the cinematographer wanted to shoot the movie in black and white, but decided he could get the same effect with dark washed out color. Should have just gone with black and white to get the old 40's horror movie vibe he seemed to be going for. Don't try adjusting your TV, it won't make any difference.

Mr Jackpots

The main thing you have to take from this is What Horcrux is. It's an object that a person rips their soul in half and places it into the object. So that if your body dies you can live on. And Voldemort split his soul 7 times. And put pieces of his soul in multiple objects. And to create a Horcrux you have to kill someone. 👍

Chris

Lol, it didn’t work because he blocked it. Just because he invented it, doesn’t mean it can’t work on him. Because it’s his spell, he knows it intimately and can block it.

Michael King

Sorry, I accidentally hit post. I was just saying I can't wait for the last two movies and from the poll and the comments, I'm not alone! Oh,yeah and Asia, I saw your face after Dumbledore was killed and they focused in on his wand, I caught you looking at BJ's wand.

Wendy Garner

Snape isn't an actual prince. . That was a nickname he gave himself when he ysed that book for potions class years before. . He was a "half-blood" meaning one parent was muggle born. . The spell from that book didn't work on Snape because they were his spells. Thank you for doing this reaction, and so quickly. . I can't wait for the last two movies and from the looks of it,m

Wendy Garner

besides the last and time travel one's, this is my FAVOURITE Harry Potter movie! SO HAPPY you guys finally got around to reacting to this! and I'm not mad at the long wait either! obviously I want to see your reaction to all the movies, but at the same time, I don't want this journey to end!

Mister Lou

While I agree with this comment Tosser can also mean.. And to keep this pg it can also mean masturbator, a tenancy to brag and show off 😊

John Smith

This book was the most literary f the series and the least cinematic. I remember when I read it I thought it was going to be difficult to adapt to film. The basic plot is intact, but there were tons of details that had to be left out in order to tell the story in an acceptable time frame. One that deserves mention is that Snape's mother's maiden name was Prince. She was a witch and Snape's father was a muggle. So Snape is half blood and like Voldemorte adopted his mother's name as a title when he was young. It was a brilliant decision to split the last book into two films since there's so much it never could have fit into a time frame of two hours and it deserves every bit of it being told. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening viewing this film with you. Please, please, finish the series soon! There are lots more surprises coming.

I remember reading this book straight through when I got it all those years ago. I just read until there weren’t any more pages and cried my eyes out when I got to the end. Even so, the end of the movie gets me every time.

Melissa

In the Café, the girl asks Harry who Harry Potter is. Harry responds that he’s just some tosser. The girl then says that she’s off at 11 and that he can tell her all about that tosser, Harry Potter. Tosser is British slang for a stupid or unpleasant person, loser, jerk etc.

Eamonn Locke

You guys, I’m trying not to do any spoilers, but I think you misunderstood. Snape is the Half Blood Prince, and it was just a name he gave himself in the potions textbook Harry used in the potions class. The spell Harry did to Draco in the bathroom was one Harry learned from the potions book. If you recall, Harry tried that same spell on Snape, and Snape chided Harry for using the spell, because Snape was the one who invented it. That was the clue that Snape is the Half Blood prince.

David Croft-Ogawa

RIP Michael Gambon (Dumbledore). He passed in September. I can’t wait for the next two films. The last one is my second favorite of the series, behind Prisoner of Azkaban.

Kelsey Perez

Well damn. Now I know what I’m watching tonight.

Melissa

Finally! I thought you guys forgot. Lol Love you two!

Great reaction Asia and BJ. 2 More left! The horcruxes are items that Riddle aka Voldemort has placed a horcrux in - In the start of the movie with the memory of Dumbledore meeting Tom when he was a child? In the wardrobe was items he cherished that he stole, hence Dumbledore told him stealing wasn't allowed at Hogwarts. In the 4th movie, before the world cup? The old man in the house that Voldemort killed? He some years previously, used the imperius curse on his uncle to kill his father and grandparents? Was their house. The ring that cursed Dumbledore's hand? That belonged to Tom's mother's father, a descendent from the original wizard family. Tom's mother grew up near that very house...Tom hated being named after his muggle father, so changed it to Voldemort. His mother was also a squib and the only way for her to have Tom's father love him? Was via a love potion. When she lifted it, thinking he loved her? He left her, and she died after giving birth to Voldemort, and he was put in a children's home, so his bitterness grew. Tom/Voldemort never ever experienced love, unlike Harry, and love killed his mother in a sense too. Its all in the sixth book, sadly they leave it out. Luna's such a great character, she's quirky and dreamlike in her nature, I love that, but Tom Felton who plays Malfoy is such a good actor, he's literally made us dislike a child throughout the movies, lol. No-One believed Harry when he insisted Malfoy was a death eater, but Malfoy showed Dumbledore the Death eater (Voldemort's loyal followers) mark, on his arm, in the tower. Harry had been right all along, but even Voldemort knew Malfoy wouldn't go through with killing Dumbledore. That was revenge for Lucius's mistake at the ministry with Harry and the prophecy and getting caught in the last movie, Voldemort could very well have killed Malfoy if Malfoy hadn't done it, hence why his mother was so scared when she went to Snape at the start and made the vow. Malfoy really had no choice but to try and he eventually let into the school the death eaters, because they couldn't apparate into the school, or get past security outside, he had to find another way for them to do so. Eventually? He did. Ironic that Voldemort is half-blood too though, and still thinks Muggle's are beneath him, fuelled by the hatred of his muggle father, to hate all muggles, because he thought himself too special to be tainted with muggle blood. One last thing? (Sorry for the long message, I don't usually do this lol) Voldemort had applied for the Dark arts teachers job when he was younger. Dumbledore turned him down. From that day forward? The job was jinxed and no dark arts teacher lasted for more than a year, another sign how powerful he is too. He literally cursed the job because he was refused it. They unfortunately don't show all this from the book in the movie, but it helps you to understand Voldemort and Tom Riddle more. Which is what Dumbledore mainly teaches Harry, which they left out. Thank you for making my evening - I'm so glad you've watched it :)

SilverDoe🎔

Thank you for the upload! 🙌🏼

T’michelle

I'm glad I didn't mention what wand it was! My sons a collector he's collecting them slowly. What a nice present to give. Agree too regarding the books, especially this one.

SilverDoe🎔

Glad you like the wand BJ! In the next movie, you will find out what wand that is. Also, there are seven books, not eight, the last movie was done in two parts. And I can’t wait to find out what you thought of the audiobook. Without reading the books or listening to them you really miss out on a lot of the story.🪄💫

Carl 🐉

Y'all still watchin Godfather II tho right?

Justin Freeman

Awesome! Looking forward to closing the book on this one with ya'll.
