The remake is soo much better. Glad you watched the old version first. Hope in the future you see the new one.

06:14 Asia, our locker rooms didn’t look like that either. We didn’t walk around like that 😅

Carol Rocha

Watched in high school. Freaky! I wouldn’t watch it again. 😄

Carol Rocha

Me either. Anxious to watch with the fam.

Carol Rocha

I don't recall the part of the liturgy where the pastor makes the sign of the cross with a butcher knife. 🤔

Dan Gonya

This story makes me so sad. Greatest American Hero (Tommy) is a genuinely nice guy, and Sissy Spacek (Carrie) really is a sweet, beautiful girl. But dickhead highschool kids gotta be dickheads I guess. Then they all get what's coming to them as far as I'm concerned. Damn you John Travolta's girlfriend who I don't care enough about to look up. 😑

Dan Gonya

Are you talking about Rage: Carrie II, or is there yet another sequel I'm unaware of?

Dan Gonya

Look, being a theologian myself, I don't know what kinda crazy books Mrs. White was reading, but the first sin was not intercourse, but eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Furthermore, I don't think y'all need a degree to figure out this lady was a whacko.

Dan Gonya

I haven't watched this in yeears - not a huge fan of the movie overall but still very much enjoyed the reaction!

Bonnie Smith

BJ’s face was priceless when the mom made the sign of the cross with the knife. LOL. This movie is classic. Every time I see Sissy Spacek in Any movie, I always chant in a high pitched voice, “they’re all gonna laugh at you! They’re all gonna laugh at you!”

Pink Martini AZ

Not a bad idea

Yimmy Yurner

Yep - Getting doused with pig’s blood at the Prom and then seeing Tommy Ross - whom she loved and the only one who had shown her nothing but kindness and made her feel beautiful for once, get hit in the head with the bucket and die, were the proverbial straws that broke the camel’s back. . The student body’s pointing, the laughing at her, the auditory flashbacks of the principal calling her “Cassie,” her mother’s cruel “They’re all gonna laugh at you!”, the girls’ “Plug it up!!” chant - Carrie experienced a full-on, paranoid psychotic break and was hallucinating. .

Original Cyn

Great reaction ya'll. The girl that has the nightmare at the end played by Amy Irving in a way carries on the telekinesis power of Carrie in a movie called the Fury, also directed by Brian De Palma, Its an unofficial sequel that right up their with Carrie.

Galaxy's Recorded

She also portrayed the female MP that hooks up with John Winger (Bill Murray) in Stripes. My PJ Soles character, however, is Riff Randall, the fun-loving, rebellious Ramones SuperFan in the cult classic Rock & Roll High School.

Original Cyn

Speaking of Brian De Palma..."Scarface" is a must watch. Also, "Carlito's Way"...

tek

RIP Piper Laurie

Heather

My paw paw used to sing that song to me all the time “Michele my bell” 💜💜

Michele G

The remake starring Chloe Grace Mortez made in 2013 is pretty good . I think you two would like it.

MichelleMyBell

Always love your reactions and love the halloween intro *big hug* to you both. Hope all is well. ❤️❤️🙂

MichelleMyBell

Loved watching your reaction.

Dan Gershgol

They already announced that it would be coming in November.

Dustin

Hope we get American Psycho soon!

Jlenn

Bad ass kids

Karim

Yes !!!!!!!! I can’t believe I didn’t make that connection. I knew she looked sooooo familiar!

Michele G

I laughed out loud at “I need you to focus” 😂😂😂

Michele G

I had my eyes focused in on Asia the whole time 😂😂😂😂 it’s one of the best jump scares !!!!

Michele G

Piper Laurie who plays Carrie’s mother passed away on the 14th of this month.

PacPimpChadRIP

Definitely The Mist and 1408! Also Creepshow, Gerald's Game and especially The Dead Zone and especially ESPECIALLY Delores Claiborne! As time goes on I love how so many Stephen King adaptions repeatedly, eventually, become all-time movie classics one by one, no matter how badly they bombed when they were first released (The Shawshank Redemption flopped so hard it was yanked from theaters before most people had even heard of it). That is the sign of timelessly good character development and structurally sound storytelling.

Skip

Fun fact: PJ Soles played Norma, the girl in the hat. Two years later she would star in Halloween as Lynda, who was totally strangled with the phone chord

Kelsey Perez

Just finished watching! Great reaction!! Trust me Asia, the first time I watched this the ending scared me so much too!! 😂 This movie is great! Always been one of my favorite horror films! I'm not one for violence but they all got what they deserved, especially little miss red baseball cap!! 😂 Glad you guys liked this movie and thanks for watching it! 👻🎃🙏😁

Rebecca Karsner

I had to back up a bit to watch Asia's face again at the end

Jill N

Okay, am I the only one who was only watching Asia and BJ during that final scene and not the movie? Their jumps did not disappoint me. LOL

bbbfst

My favorite R rated moments of this reaction... BJ: "I'm seeing nothing but shrubs and hedges!" Asia: "I need you to focus." BJ: "When you're in high school can't resist that." Asia: "Shoot!.... I ain't lickin' nobody's dirty fingers!" BJ: "I'm so confused...she was still talkin'...." Asia: "yeah... A LOT!" 🤣😂👏 You two are the best...

Dustin

This was a great time with you two! Thanks as always. I've always loved this movie. A suspenseful and unnerving gem of a movie! I think Sissy Spacek was so fantastic in this. I love how she went from the most insecure, innocent girl to this terrifying, out of control monster. Good times.😆 Thanks for watching this classic with us, as always, you two are the best! Have a great night! (Oh, and by the way, no matter what anyone else here says, do not watch the 2012 remake. You'll be disappointed. Everything from the casting to the acting to the direction is just plain bad. Really. Avoid it. 😁)

Dustin

I saw this in the theater. A couple hundred people having the same reaction to the end as you both. And BJ, you had me fallin out my seat twice; once with bushes and hedges everywhere and the other with she slapped her with the word! I'm done witchu. lmao

Jennifer James (wtfwebgoddess)

It was accurate for the time. In the ‘70s we were not allowed to go solo to the prom. Dates only.

Barb Just Barb

Stephen King is the best! Here are some other great ones to watch. Pet Semetery (1989), Firestarter (1984) Cujo (1983) Dreamcatcher (2003) The Mist (2007) Thinner (1996) Maximum Overdrive (1986) The Running Man (1987) 1408 (2007)

Tonya Miller

Carrie review: Bitches get what they deserve. Some collateral damage.

CeeCee

I always saw it as, the teacher, some of the students and Tommy and Sue were actually trying to be nice. When she sees the crowd all "laughing" at her, I think that's just an illusion from Carrie's mind. She was then hearing her mothers voice in that moment. I think, only the mean girls were actually laughing at that point. But, they did all pay the price! 8)

Indigo

Asia, you need to worry about what's behind the couch!! You're feet gonna be okay.

John

If you notice they show the teacher who was kind of on Carries side laughing at her as well, I remember hearing that the Director said that that was meant to hint that everyone was not actually laughing at her, but that’s how she felt in that moment. Also, in the book Carrie is kind of overweight, so when they kill the pig for the blood to dump on her, they say it’s pigs blood for a pig so it’s actually kind of even more cruel.

Adam B

I saw this when it came out in the late 70's. Everybody in th theater jumped when the hand popped out. Brian Depalma was a great directer. Your reaction was awesome.

s8150f

When I was in school in the 80’s it was unheard of to go without a date. So with this being in 70’s that’s the reason why maybe 🤔

Kim Cottingham

My husband was in the army when this came. Out. When they were Arlington cemetery at night he said everyone got sooo spooked out

Kim Cottingham

If you guys get tired of the slasher movies this month you should really take a look at the Simon Pegg trilogy. Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz. and The World’s End. All three are great, comical, Halloween season movies.🎃👍🏻

Carl 🐉

Hey time for movie night... well in 3 more hours anyway lol. Can't wait to dive into this classic with y'all and check out the reaction ✌❤ fam!

Darth Brooks

I've been waiting for this reaction!!! One of my favorite classic horror movies!

Monica W

Just FYI, the statue that her mother's death resembles is Saint Sebastian.

Jennifer

Good eyes on BJ, Helen with the big glasses was played by Edie McClurg, who you probably remember from Planes, Trains and Automobiles (the car rental lady) or Ferris Bueller (the principals secretary)

Skip

Can't wait to watch this tonight! It's a classic. Check out "The Blair Witch Project" (1999) an absolute classic!

Yum

That jump at the end 😂 so worth it! You’re right though guys. Worst nightmare ever at the prom, with what they put Carrie through and the blood and the revenge she took. They could have made that prom scene so much worse lol. In a sense you can’t help but think… karma 😬 poor Carrie, given her mother? She never really stood a chance! Thank you again guys I loved it!

SilverDoe🎔

Iconic!!! Truly one of my favorite horror movies. The prom scene is a masterpiece of editing and scoring. The build up is so tense! And it’s devastating. Tommy was being so good to her and she was really enjoying herself probably for the first time ever. The mom has always been soooo scary to me - RIP Piper Laurie.

Miss Melissa

I always thought that "can't go to the prom without a date" was so stupid. Lazy writing!

Jennifer

One of my favorites! That scene where Sue gradually discovered the rope and bucket through the moment where the gym teacher pushed her out the door, right as the blood fell, was so perfectly filmed - music and everything.

Kimberly Tyda

I love watching this movie around Halloween Sad that so many continue to try and ban this movie from airing because of the gym scene. The 2002 version was more true to the book The 2013 version was pretty good Carrie 2 was horrible

Christina Terwilliger

"all I see is shrubs and hedges" hahaha that might be the funniest thing out of all the funny things BJ has said. You are hilarious my guy lol.

Rio Mendoza

Asia didn’t know if the mom was coming or going 😂

React2Reactions

"Smoking in the Principles Office" almost sounds like a Motley Crue song.

Rich

You guys should totally watch Pet Seminary (1989) another King film. Sleepwalkers, Stand by Me, Needful Things, The Deadzone, Creepshow and The Mist are all great too. I personaly like Dreamcatcher but it's hit and miss for people.

Rich

I remember seeing this at the drive in. I still get jumpy when the bucket is poured over Carrie because I know what’s about to happen.

Cyndi

Awww young John Travolta and Sissy SpaceX. Such a classic.

Christina Terwilliger

Ohhhh this will be fun! Its such a classic! Thank you both :) 🤗

SilverDoe🎔

Yes! I love this movie. The novel is great too. RIP Piper Laurie (Carrie’s mom). She passed a few days ago at 91.

Kelsey Perez

Great film, my Friday night sorted. Currently watching Saw X, pretty good so far. Cheers, guys!

Rich

OMG this one is a classic!! Can't wait to watch later!! Another fire 🔥🔥 drop!! Thanks guys!!

Rebecca Karsner

Yo yo yo!!! Awesome!!! This movie is the original rendition of the epic Stephen King novel. Not bashing other newer versions just like never wanted to watch them. Sissy Spacek did for this movie what Jack Nicholson did for “The Shining.” Brilliant acting that helped make it into a total horror classic yo. Thanks Asia, BJ and Fam. Can’t wait to watch. 🔪🩸 🍿

Jesse

I love you guys. You hit such good movies at all times. Keep up the good work!

Renee S

Been waiting for this one for soooooo long!!!!! xxxx So pleased you both enjoyed it so much.... Next ones I'm hoping for are 'The Omen' and 'Psycho II' x

Rob Walters

Oh this is a classic I am gonna watch this right now. Thank you for this one love classic horror.

Rio Mendoza
