In Spider-Man, It’s the car uncle Ben drives Peter in, and the thief who shot him steals. Of course it doesn’t appear in The Quick and the Dead because that’s a western, lol. About the origins of the book, Sumerian culture was from the Middle East. The person in the tape was a professor who studied and dug up these artifacts and then went into the forest to study them further. It’s nothing to do with witchdoctors or whatever. Sumerian culture was one of the earliest recorded that we have. It’s ancient Mesopotamia, basically the region of Iraq and Iran, among other areas. Here’s a concise explanation. The Sumerians were the people of southern Mesopotamia whose civilization flourished between c. 4100-1750 BCE. Their name comes from the region which is frequently – and incorrectly – referred to as a “country”. Sumer was never a cohesive political entity, however, but a region of city-states each with its own king. Sumer was the southern counterpart to the northern region of Akkad whose people gave Sumer its name, meaning “land of the civilized kings”. The Sumerians themselves referred to their region simply as “the land” or “the land of the black-headed people”. The Sumerians were responsible for many of the most important innovations, inventions, and concepts taken for granted in the present day. They essentially “invented” time by dividing day and night into 12-hour periods, hours into 60 minutes, and minutes into 60 seconds. Their other innovations and inventions include the first schools, the earliest version of the tale of the Great Flood and other biblical narratives, the oldest heroic epic, governmental bureaucracy, monumental architecture, and irrigation techniques. After the rise of the Amorites in Mesopotamia, and the invasion of the Elamites, Sumer ceased to exist and was only known through references in the works of ancient writers, including the scribes who wrote the biblical Book of Genesis. Sumer remained unknown until the mid-19th century CE when excavations in Mesopotamia unearthed their civilization and brought their many contributions to light.

Studios didn't want it to be too comedy heavy like Raimi/Campbell wanted so they kept the story the same as the 1st. The biggest difference is setting up a franchise, or at that time a trilogy. Vague as I can get without spoilers lol.

Sam and Bruce lost the rights to the first one originally, the movie company got sold iirc, along with the movies it held, Evil dead being one of them. It took a long time for them to get the rights to it back :) They had to change it, to keep the franchise going, I think! Just so you're not confused!

One of the girls masks literally pulled off her eyebrows and a few of them got injuries iirc. I’m So glad you’ve both watched it and hope you do the rest of the series. I don’t always like remakes but even the 2013 remakes good imo. Thank you guys 😀
