2025-04-05 06:48:37 +0000 UTCThis is touched on more in the book than the movies, but the prophecy was actually about the Dark Lord and potentially 2 other people: Harry Potter, and Neville Longbottom. It was Voldemort who chose to go after Harry as a child, thereby making the prophecy about Harry, even though it could have applied to Neville as well. My point remains that the prophecy was definitely referring to Voldemort, and by action, Harry Potter, therefore either person a prophecy is in regards to can collect said prophecy from the Department of Mysteries. Voldemort's plan was convoluted and overly complicated when he can clearly just walk in there any time he feels like and grab it himself. I'm not commenting on this anymore. I think my point has been made clear and I'm not gonna argue anymore with anyone.

So, my point was, if Voldemort can just walk into the ministry any time he wants to, undetected, as he did during the climax, why not just go get it himself and skip the whole "trick Harry Potter into doing it" plan? I mean, besides the fact that we need the movie to happen... 🤣 Yes, Voldemort is dumb, and this is more evidence of his incompetence.

Voldemort spends the whole movie trying to trick Harry into retrieving that prophesy, only for it, A: to be useless, and B: Voldemort shows up at the ministry himself anyway. He could have done that the whole time. Remind me how exactly Voldemort almost took over the world in the first place? He really seems like kind of an idiot...

The power of love and friendship is stressed througout all the books. It was Harry's mother who gave her life to protect him that is just one example of the immense power of love. No spoilers, but when you get to the last film, you're gonna find out about an enormously important love that you've never suspected that has shaped this whole series. I have just discovered your channel and watching the two of you watch these films and others has been a delight. Please finish the HP series soon. The last two esp are epic.

He was the one that warned Sirius Black to go help Harry at the ministry of magic, and then they order of phoenix. All showed up. It was all because of Professor Snape was able to warn “pad foot” aka serious black

The books have soooo much so it’s hard to cover everything in the movie. I’m sure it hurts the writers, directors and actors when things have to get chopped out too.

They have him, where it is hidden!" wasn't Snape getting back at Potter for reversing the mind entering spell, it was him saying "Got it! I'll relay that to The Order (of the Phoenix), which is why they were able to come to their rescue. I love you guys' reactions! and can not wait for the next! because it's honestly MY personal Favourite.

2023-09-20 00:03:45 +0000 UTCOh also what happens between Cho and Harry. In the book they actually go on dates (or at least a date) but Cho can't stop talking about Cedric and crying. Then it isn't super clear in the movie, they present you with the evidence but you have to draw the conclusions yourself. It is figured out that Cho told Umbridge and them about the Dumbledoor's Army meetings and how to get there, so everyone, including Harry, turns on Cho because she is a betrayer. Then later you find out that she told because Umbridge made Snape give her truth serum so it wasn't her fault or by her will and then you feel sorry for Cho and forgive her. But that is why her and Harry don't end up together at the end of this movie/book even tho Harry has been pining for her for at least 2 movies/3 books, they just couldn't get past the whole Cedric thing.

2023-09-19 23:56:56 +0000 UTCI definitely understand for those that started on the movies or only watch the movies why this is so many peoples' favorite. For me this is the movie that made me completely give up hope in the movies all together and was the start of why I never watched the last movie (p2 of 7) until years and years after its release. First they took my favorite character from the books (Nymphadora Tonks) and completely gutted her down to like 2 lines and small amount of face time, even give her parts to Luna in the next movie. Also they downplay why Harry is so beyond angry besides the influence of Vold. He hears from no one during the summer, when he gets to the Order everyone gets to learn information and be apart of the meetings but they refuse to let Harry in, his source of comfort from Dumbledoor is gone because Dumble ignores him. The school doesn't believe him. Through out the whole book there is this feeling of loneliness and frustration flooding through Harry and therefor the reader that I feel they don't even get slightly close to in the movies. Then they take out the point of the prophecy and Dumbledoor explaining everything to Harry. There is supposed to be a whole chapter of Dumble and Harry talking one on one about everything which is brought down to 10-15secs in the movie. The prophecy that was told by Sybill Trelawney (1 of the only 2 true prophecies she ever made which is why Dumbledoor hired her when she told him this prophecy) was that a child was to be born with powers to either beat or rival Vold's and that was either Harry or Neville and because Vold believed the Potter's would be a bigger threat he chose to go kill Harry. If Vold would of chosen Neville, then he might have been the hero of the books/movies. Next is the trip to the department of mysteries. In the movie everyone just gets a scrape here or there, maybe little trickle of blood. In the book they all almost die and get messed up. Ron gets this creature attached to his head which makes him delirious or something like that, Neville gets his face smashed into stone steps, Hermione gets shot through the chest with a spell and almost dies. I don't remember what happens to Ginny and Luna, just looked it up Ginny gets her ankle broken (or sprained it said 2 different answers xD) and Luna gets thrown into the air then slammed into a table knocking her unconscious. And finally the icing on the cake of falling short in the movie, as someone said above, they do Dumble sooo dirty in the fight scene. He is so beyond nerfed that Vold is matching and outdoing his power and it looks like Dumble is struggling and slightly fearful, but in the book Dumble is a fuggin G man he walks right at Vold while Vold is throwing spell after spell and Dumble doesn't even break a sweat he just shifts statues in the way to take the blows while he thug walks at Vold. Which is why they said that Vold always feared Dumble because he is so strong (for many reasons, one you find out later no spoilers). While the fight seen is cool and you can do more with a movie action-wise than in a book it just really didn't make Dumble look like the all powerful beast that he is supposed to be so it was incredibly disappointing for me. Long winded explanation of why when I left the movie theater I had the same response to this movie as the 3rd Star Wars movie. I wanted to like it cause it was SW but I couldn't shake the feeling "I don't know what it was but that movie was terrible but I can't not like it right cause it's SW?" Felt the same way with HP, like no it must have been good cause it's HP but then why do I feel like I really disliked it?

Side note, what Ron says about if he was looking for the bathroom is a verbal Easter egg because that is how Dumbledore found the room himself when he as looking for a bathroom and found a room full of chamber pots. They do the part with Harry knowing about Neville's parents differently, as Harry has know about them for long time and the others find out at the hospital when Ron's dad is hurt. They cut that part in the movie and have it jump to him being out of the hospital. WHen the kids fly to London, imagine how bad it would be for most of them, as only 3 of them (Neville, Luna and Harry) could actually see their Thestral mounts. It also fixed the horrible way she did the whole fireplace scene in the books. It was one book that needed a whole lot of pages cut out of it.

The most annoying and aggravating character in the series. When an actress can portray a character so well that you absolutely hate them, you know they have done a good job. lol 😆

To answer some of your questions. 1) The teacher arguing with Umbridge is Minerva McGonagall (second in command to Dumbledore at Hogwarts). 2) Harry said that "we have something worth fighting for". By the way, on your phone (if you have iPhone) and press your Siri button and say “Lumos” (the spell to turn your wand into a flashlight from Harry Potter) your flashlight on your phone will come on (say “Nox” while holding Siri button to turn it off).
