Look up Tommy Johnson, yall. It's real. It's very real. He wasn't kidding.

D-nastiest1intheroom

FYI Tommy Johnson is a real musician (Chris Thomas King), in case anyone's interested, here's him singing that song he was playing at that campfire in the movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laWj4OOGo7c

Lee Stephenson

Definitely check “Fargo” and “Raising Arizona” out

Kerry Knight

I love this movie & soundtrack. I believe this makes 2 of The Coen brothers’ movies that you’ve reacted to on your channel. “The Big Lebowski” & “O Brother Where Art Thou”. You’ll need to check out these other Coen Brothers’ movies which I like. “Fargo”, “No Country for Old Men”, “ Lady Killers”, “Burn After Reading”, & “Raising Arizona”.

Ricky Bretherick

I need to get me some of that Dapper Dan. I always wanted to be dapper.

Mr Jackpots

I can't get through this film either I tried last night I'm just not a Clooney fan except for Michael Clayton, that movie is amazing. And I usually love all of the Cohen brothers films but this one just doesn't do it for me

Rio Mendoza

I give you credit. I never got past 30 minutes of this movie when it came out. We left the theater we were so bored. I'd rather have read The Odyssey 😂

LynnC

Speaking of CrossRoads, you need to watch the movie CrossRoads with Ralph Macchio! 👍🏻

Carl 🐉

That movie is one of my personal favorites. Murray is so funny.

Dustin

Also, BJ (and Asia too 😉) another really great mafia/gangster movie by the Cohen Bros that I think that you'd really like is called MILLER'S CROSSING. You should check it out.

Dustin

Great choice! I hope you all liked it. The Cohen Bros are probably my all time favorite film makers. Asia and BJ, I really think you should check out both RAISING ARIZONA (absolutely hilarious) and THE LADYKILLERS (Tom Hanks is fantastic with an equally fantastic cast). I really think you two will like them both!

Dustin

What about Bob? is one I think yall would really like.

Tonna Clemons

ok lets go. VIPs stepping up their game.

CS

Oh man. This made me so happy! I hadn't watched this movie in forever (saw it multiple times in the theater too) but there was a time where I would just have this playing in the background when I was WFH or just doing things around the house. The soundtrack was a regular playlist as well. Loved watching this with you!

Andi Szilagyi

It was great watching this reaction video. I think you guys will also enjoy ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’

Will Zamora

"How's my hair" 😆🤣... man I love the Coen Bros..

I have always loved this film. It's neat to pick out the characters from Homer's The Odyssey, and such an interesting take. I love the depression era used as a backdrop (they even had Babyface Nelson!) and the quick wit. George had his uncle from Kentucky tape himself reading all his lines to get his accent down. When filming, the Coen's asked him why he took out all the curse words from his lines. It's as only then that he realized that his uncle (who does not use curse words) changed the lines he recorded so he didn't have to curse. When I went to see my friend's son be baptized, at the church they attend, the choir walked in from the back of the church singing the "When I walk down to the river to pray" song acapella just like in the movie. I also liked the Robert Johnson crossroads callback.

Mary Merry Berry

A lot of people don't catch it, but this movie is Homer's Odyssey with a different setting

Grushdeva

BJ says crossroads and I thought he knew right off for a second that he got the Robert Johnson real fast. Robert wrote the song crossroads because that’s were he sold his soul.

Mushman

This film is great and all, but True Grit from the same writers/directors is my favorite of theirs.

Brian - DocHikes

Another movie that’s great, and in this same sort of vein is ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’. About the old west and frontier Americana. The guy who sold his soul for learning to play guitar was a nod to Robert Johnson, who legend has it sold his soul to learn to play, and he’s considered one of the greatest to ever play, and he died young which only added to legend. The reason it’s stuck around is apparently he had no ability, and then was one of the best seemly “overnight”. Don’t know why they named him Tommy in this because they use some other seemingly real historical figures. Everett’s wife is Elasta-girl, mom from The Incredibles.

Michael King

I might have to watch this cause I haven't been a part of much lately. I'm not watchinf any of the TV shows and the last few films weren't my favs except for Coming to America that's one of my favs. Hopefully they upload some more of my favs. Oh what about Harry Potter I would really enjoy them finishing those films they are so good. Anyway have a good night everyone

Rio Mendoza

I'm not a big fan of this film but the other Cohen bros films I really like. Fargo and No country are absolutely amazing films.

Rio Mendoza

Yes that film is amazing I can't wait for them to get to it. I'm sure they will.

Rio Mendoza

Love the the hell out of this Movie. Y'all need to eventually get to 'No Country for Old Men' which is also by the Coen Brothers

Evan West

Lol, this and Lebowski are my favorite Cohen Bros movies. It’s just so well done, and I’m partial as I’m also from Appalachia and the Deep South. It’s also a modern take on Homer’s epic, The Odyssey. You have Hermes the thief, cyclops, even Homer himself as the blind radio man, as well as the sirens. Plus the estranged wife/husband dynamic and the fake beard to disguise himself as an old man. This movie also has an EPIC soundtrack.

Michael King

One of my top ten favorite movies!

Isaac Bont

You've got fine taste, Aurelio

Jake Martin
