Brenner gotta be stupid as hell. He knows that they are looking for a young girl with a shaved head. Instead of carrying her around dressed like a little kid, he needs to slap a wig on her, dress her up in a lab coat, just flippin anything to make her look different then, I dunno, EXACTLY what they'll looking for. *facepalm*

Easy to use, easy to aim, light ammunition, and excellent tactical options. And, since the Federal assault weapons ban didn't come about until 1994, they would have been readily available. However, based on their ...I'm only guessing here cuz they don't actually mention it...limited budget, I understand the shotgun choice...speaking of budgets, where the heck did Joyce get 40K? First season, she had to get an advance to buy a damn phone. This is something the show has left unanswered so far as I've watched.
