Coming To America

Coming To America

The fiance would still be hopping and barking like a dog. He never told her to stop lol. I guess once she was informed she'd no longer be marrying Akeem she'd stop as there's no incentive to do what he says.

Aaron Barlow

"Every time I talk bout boxin, some white man gotta pull Rocky Marciano outta dey ass!"

Aaron Barlow

Lmfaoo listen to the song forest Whitaker by brother Ali. There's a surprise at the very end I think you'll appreciate. 😭😭😭

D-nastiest1intheroom

And arsenio

MsLuvmusic81

All thw guys in the barbershop are played by Eddie Murphy like he did the klumps in nutty professor.

D-nastiest1intheroom

So much talent in this movie.

Dan Gershgol

I don't know why the Sexual Chocolate scene is so funny to me. Musically, eddie murphy can sing -- the band isn't off key -- and the message is harmless. It's super mediocre. But eddie looks like a pot belly pig with a jerri curl lol. And the fact the one dude is such a fan of this public access music cracks me up lol. It's hard to explain and because of that it has always stayed with me. Randy Watson is a legend in his own mind and we should just accept it.

Potato Jones

One of my favorite comedies by far, it has so many hilarious parts. :D

samuel Jakob

Are you willing to go back a little further? Try the Cosby/Poitier series. Uptown Saturday Night, Let's Do It Again and A Piece of the Action.

Kyndu

My favorite scene of any Eddie Murphy movie is still him locked in that cell in "48 Hours" singing "Roxanne" by the Police. OMG 😂 I can't hear that song without hearing Eddie hitting the Roxxxxxannne in that high pitch.

Jen Hurlburt

Understand. James Earl Jones IS Darth Vader! Great reaction🤓🤠❤️

Justin Doggett

When the dance scene came on to introduce the gold dress fiancée and then the “she is your queen” performance, Asia your face was priceless. It was the look of, “what on earth…” and then finally you stared laughing. Yes! Everything was perfectly over the top and ridiculous. I think I was 17 when this film came out and my good friend Richard would always imitate the Eddie Murphy Sexual Chocolate scene perfectly. Even dropping the microphone down and yelling out “Sexual Chocolate!” Lol Fun stuff!

Pink Martini AZ

Ohhhh... I didn't think about that. Can't wait.

Stacey Capito

45 minutes in… “Wait, is that Eddie Murphy…?” 👀😳🤣🥰

Kiera Walker

From the JULY 16 Patreon poll...they've watched Signs, now Coming To America. Next up on that list is JOKER...getting closer, can't wait!!!!!

tek

Lol. I watched Arsenio Hall when I was in my teens! Diapers...pshhh you a baby lol. And Mufsa? pshhh lol. And Darth Vader!

ShiZZ_DiGG

Love John Amos character. He is a little sleazy but he just wants the best for his daughters.

s8150f

I think the two homeless guys were in the movie trading places

Chris Smith

Renee S

Y’all bringing up “good times” omgosh I loved that show !! DYNOMIIIIITE!!!!! I need to see if they stream that anywhere. It was such a good show !

Michele G

I didn’t know she was Sarabi !!! How cool is that !!

Michele G

I felt like BJ was soooo close to remembering who they were, when he started to say “Mortimer and Randolph” lol

Julie_bear94

BJ that imitation of Florida from Good Times…you even got the shake in the voice! 😂😂😂

Lucy

I was just dying, realizing you guys didn't recognize Eddie and Arsenio in multiple parts - just like he did in Nutty Professor. And Eddie has a classic SNL skit where he goes undercover as a white man. So funny! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_LeJfn_qW0

Beverly Dancy

Paula Abdul was 18 when she choreographed the wedding dance scene from the movie.

Maryanne Murphy

Yup, it's Mufasa AND Sarabi 😁

Star Benjamin

I couldn't wait for y'all to get to this movie, I knew you would find it hilarious. From the "She's Your Queen To Be" serenade, to the iconic barbershop scenes, to Mr. Randy Watson and so much more, this movie is full of cult classic moments. I still use "the Big Mick" to describe a rip-off to this day, lol. I had a ton of fun watching this again with you guys, thanks so much!

precious926

I forgot how many boobs were in this movie! 🍈🍈 I always thought Arsenio was handsome when I was growing up too. No shame! 😁

Sivan

No way you guys never watched this..........wowwwww. Youngings? Lol

Asia - I met Arsenio Hall briefly when I worked at 20th Century Fox back in the 90's. He was with someone in the building where I worked on the lot and a coworker and I were walking towards them. We each moved to the side to let them walk through and he was "Oh, you aren't going to say hi?" and smiled really big. We said "hello" and kept going. That was cool because it's sort of an unspoken rule that you don't randomly interact with famous folks because they are at work too and it's meant to be a safe place. So him talking to us surprised us both. :)

Kristin Kanan

You guys also might recognize Garcelle from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Bravo. I’m glad you did this one - it’s a classic.

Melissa

Filming locations for Coming to America. https://movie-locations.com/movies/c/Coming-To-America.php

Carl 🐉

“Do not alert him to my presence, I will deal with him myself.”. Was the same line James Earl Jones used in Star Wars when he played the voice of Darth Vader.

Carl 🐉

Did you not recognize Randolph and Mortimer Duke from Trading Places?

Carl 🐉

Dexter tmrw hopefully 👀 can’t wait for season 4

Brian Clancy

I know right?! LOL

Asia and BJ

We fixed the video :)

Asia and BJ

The video your talking about is BUSTA rhymes dance scene for put your hands where my eyes can see.

Tonna Clemons

"The royal penis is clean, Your Highness." BJ: I need that kind of treatment!" Me: Where do we sign up? 🤭

Renee S

“Harlem Nights” is a good one too, starring Eddie Murphy and the legendary Richard Pryor

Awilda Luciano

Hello thumbnails, I haven't seen you lately how you been?. 😂

ShiZZ_DiGG

True classic. If you haven’t seen LIFE with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence you’ll definitely enjoy that too.

Karim

Know that several Eddie Murphy movies roll bloopers through the credits, so don't jump off immediately until you know. He also has a few movies where he plays many of the characters. He's such a great talent.

LynnC

Asia- I’m so glad you finally watched this. I knew you’d like it! 🩷

Julie A

I'm still blown you guys had never seen it! This is such a quoteable movie. The bark like a dog was one of my faves that I've used many, many times over the years. Soul Glow is a universally shared quote, everyone that's seen the movie will sing that at some point in their lives. Eddie Murphy was just coming out of Saturday Night Live and he had been working on the story then had screenwriters adapt it to screen. He had the vision of how he wanted it. Wouldn't surprise me if he chose the cast. I'll be honest, Coming 2 America was not all that. It was cute but eh...

Rowan

Yeah, she worked on The Jackson's Victory tour.

Rowan

Awww yay!! I love this movie!! One of my favorite romantic comedies! 💕 It’s like a modern day fairy tale but so damn funny too. Her pink wedding dress at the end is so gorgeous! The dance choreography was done by Paula Abdul - that’s why it might seem familiar. I’m not sure if she worked with Michael Jackson, but she was Janet Jackson’s choreographer during the 80’s. Thanks for doing this one!!! 💕✨

Miss Melissa

Sorry I missed the visuals of you, but hearing your reactions was great fun anyway. This is one of my favorite comedies. And I've always loved the callback to the Duke brothers from Trading Places, who are now homeless on the streets until Akeem gives them a new fortune.

Richard Zinns

Love watching this movie with ya'll. I was smiling from ear to ear watching the reactions. So good. Great reaction!

Sean G

James Earl Jones... Mufasa!! And Darth Vader (the original trilogy!)

Riley

Hey hey, your back like you never left before! I love you guys!!!

Ross Johnston

Simba in the lion king (as voice actors) and (Eddie Murphy)Akeem’s character in Coming to America had the same parents. Y’all singing the lion sleeps tonight reminded me, super awesome!

Brandon Wheeler

The two homeless men that Akeem gives the cash to (01:18:32) are none other than Randolph and Mortimer Duke from "Trading Places" which also stars Eddie Murphy. The two movies exist in the same universe. That's why Randolph says, "Mortimer, we're back!" after they realize that they have money to invest again. Asia's comment about, "He gave money to the wrong people" was a laugh-out-loud moment.

Kevin

Nice to see ya'll again. Getting ready to watch now.

Sean G

No not tonight :)

Asia and BJ

dexter tonight too?

M Palmiere

Hey ,there you two are. Thanks again for getting it back out
