I love this movie. It is always a good one to see every time even on reruns on tv. Love both ur reactions to this movie.

Annette

lol thanks for them goosebumps Asia, that shriek at the end got to me as well. I have a few suggestions that are within this sci-fi genre, Fire in the sky and the fourth Kind.

Saints_Madness

M. Night Shyamalan may have flamed out in the last 15 years or so, but I have to give hime credit where credit is due. He was a master of suspense, and this movie epitomizes that fact.

Dan Gonya

The funny part is…. he was right.

Thomas Monk

I haven't seen this movie in forever -- right after it came out actually. And that Army recruitment scene is just clown shoes. "I. Have. SEEN. this. BEFORE. It. IS. called. PROBING. *big weird smile*" It's like watching an animated wax museum.

Potato Jones

Oh I love this movie! I think it has the funniest humor dropped in. I love all M night Shyamalan movies!! They are worth watching! The Sixth Sense was an M Night Shyamalan. Loved watching with the Fam you guys are the best!🫶🏻✌🏻☀️

Goldie Schooch

I loveeee this movie. I don't believe in ~"signs" as a faith thing but it's very enjoyable as a fictional movie!

Rue Surnameunimportant

Great choice. One of my favs. And you get a two for one deal with Mel and Juaquin. 😊

Shannon

Same

cernunnos66

They have already seen this last year. It's on their page somewhere.

MiM

Ohh gotta watch 6th sense. Please add it to a poll if you haven't seen it!

Sule

I could never get into this one. Just tried watching it a 2nd time and lost interest.

Amber Yousef

♥ This may be my favorite reaction yet! I hope you keep going with The Village.

Jennifer James (wtfwebgoddess)

"Read between the lines, to see the signs" - I feel this need to be made into a t-shirt lol

Just Me Chris

I have. That one has a creepy abduction scene!

Jason C

Have you guys seen the movie Fire in the Sky

Andre Anderson

Great movie and reaction! Ready for more Dexter!!!

Angie Anguiano

One of my favourite movies ever. Its simple, its not over the top, but the mixture of family issues + the slow building tension of something "other" is just brilliantly done.

Benjamin

Love that you did this movie. It totally ties in to my overall belief that there are no coincidences- there is a reason for everything. Oh my gosh, I lost my account for a week when I over drew my account by accident and it has been killing me and to come back and see so much awesome stuff posted! I am so SO happy!

Mary Merry Berry

That’s such a great movie !!!!

Michele G

I saw that congress had a meeting but I didn’t watch it. It freaks me out lol. I’ll be at the lake house. Tell me when it’s all clear 😂

Michele G

Charlotte Drolet

You guys need to watch Dark Skies! I might just have to fork over some dough to make a Vip request!

Heather

Im not sure you guys are into military movies, but one movie i would for you guys to consider watching is “Lone Survivor” its about the true story of Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan, 4 man team on a recon mission, thats all im going to give you guys because the rest would be spoilers 😂 its one of my all time favorite military movies, the suspense, the action. Feels like you’re really there with them. Hope you guys consider it! Have a great night you too!

Cody Jado

Ya'll gotta start doing some biography movies! "Straight outta Compton" (NWA's story) is a nice starter movie based on real life events 💯 Think about it!

They weren't here to take over, they were hear to take people (and they did, people were dragged away - it says as much on the radio towards the end). They had a tolerance for moisture, but not for direct contact with water. It was a perilous planet to them, but they could move around and breathe the air, so it was a temporary invasion. It's less hazardous than humans going to the moon or Mars, yet we insist on that, don't we? Guess you could call us stupid, too. As for the pantry door, the alien got out when it thought it was safe. It didn't WANT to get out while Mel Gibson was still there. This matches up with the behavior of the aliens throughout the movie (excluding when they were with each other during the raid at the end). Before then, they always hid, watching. If they were seen, they'd run away.

Jason C

It would be CRIMINAL y’all don’t watch Scary Movie 3 after this 🤣🤣🤣

LumpyGrits

Cant say I remember what happens but Im glad my peeps are getting their fix tonight. Ready to enjoy with you two <3

JessicaB

Thanks for the watch. These aliens 👽 were pretty stupid. They come and try to take over a planet thats 72% water and they couldn't even get through a wooden door. If not stupid then very inept . (Probably a bit of both) You all be safe and look forward to next one.

Squ33ky

I always loved this movie! Did you guys see anything that happened today about the three whistleblowers(retired Air Force) in Congress speaking about UFOs and non human pilots and the US concealing multi-decade programs that capture UFOs.You both need to watch it,. And now watching this movie again it`s kinda freaky. Another great reaction you two!

Dee Lawson

Loving rewatching dexter with them. Haven't seen it in years

Kim Cottingham

Need that dexter haha

Brian Clancy

My favorite movie with my favorite reactors

Marcus

Time to dive in, finally got a day off to binge the best reactors out there! Hope everyones week is going great so far stay safe and stay blessed ✌❤ A&B fam!

Darth Brooks

I was gonna say the same thing lmfao

Darth Brooks

Can't wait to rewatch this! Scary Movie 3 ruined this movie for me! Lolol 😂

Rebecca Karsner

Also guys I'm pretty sure the aliens in this movie is supposed to be the greys... they aren't actually considered short. I think that's a common misconception.

Angelina Sargent

Dark skies is a great movie!!!

Angelina Sargent

Asia, we should vibe on some alien conspiracies, you were spot on talking about tall and short Greys, Nordic/Pleiadeans, reptile/reptiloids, and even feline/cat ones. its some wild topics lmao https://i.imgur.com/cOhjKkR.png https://www.youtube.com/show/SCCgK_xPuJyYls6jwzsB67zA?season=4&sbp=CgE0GhwaGgoYVUMyeVdzQ3Z6ZGVJRk1TUmNRZHd1VXNR

Riley

I have never been a M. Night Shyamalan fan. The only movie of his I cared for was Sixth Sense. I have seen this movie once and was so bored. To each their own. I'm ready for another strangers thing video lol

Christina Terwilliger

Can't wait to watch this.

Chris

The guy that plays Ray happens to be the director of this movie M.Night Shyamalan he also directed numerous of other movies as well such as the sixth sense, split , unbreakable , etc sometimes he appears in cameos in his films just like Stephen king..great reaction guys!

T’michelle

This is the kind of scary movie I like. Thriller, suspenseful, no gore. The type that is subtle and makes you think. There was so little dialog in this film and it really set the tone.

LynnC

spoiler alert!

Swing away Merrill

AllSeeing_I

Remember that last memory that Graham had of the accident scene. His wife said, "Tell Graham...tell him, see. Tell him to see." Why would she say it that way? He was right there. And then, "Tell Merrill to swing away." What was Graham supposed to see? All the glasses of water? Merrill with his bat right there on the wall? It all ties together, something was at work, right? So many little things in this movie. Merrill moved back (with his bat, presumably) to his brother's home after the wife died. Morgan had asthma, so the poison didn't enter his airways. Ray Reddy said it was almost like the accident was meant to be. and Graham's wife said it was meant to be, too. And one thing that I never caught until this zillionth time I watched this movie, was that little Bo had that hangup about water from birth. I love this movie. It's right up there with The Sixth Sense, and just above Unbreakable, as far as Shyamalan's films.

Chryss Guiler

Seconded! Stunningly beautiful.

Rowan

Y’all gotta see The Cell with Jennifer Lopez! The art direction, costumes and sets are GORGEOUS.

David Croft-Ogawa

The fact that you were a kid when it came out terrifies me 😂 👵🏻

LynnC

Gotta love some Reelin fam!! I know what im doing tonight! You guys are too good to us! ✌️❤️

Pele'sFyre

The commonly accepted names for aliens are "The Greys, Insectoids & Reptilians." A book is displayed showing a picture of the 3 in the movie: "Dark Skies."

Jason C

Ya'll should watch Paul now! He is the "grey one" Asia. LOL It's a highly inappropriate comedy featuring an alien.

Brenda Galvez

Hilarious!!!! I like BJ’s description “That’s not your friendly green giant!” LOL 😂

Awilda Luciano

I can't believe you didn't even talk about the real topic of this movie. Faith! 😁

Peir Fluellen

Yesssss!!!! This movie terrified me as a kid.

Shyanne Shadle

I'm guessing you enjoyed this movie 😂

Please have a reaction to “The Others”. It’s an excellent horror-suspense, much in the vein of The Sixth Sense—which I know you both loved. The Others is very underrated, highly uncommercialized, and didn’t get much into people’s radar, but it’s very very good. Please at least have a look at Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB for its ratings—both critics and audiences alike loved the movie.

Anthony

The most eerie movie of my childhood. Besides the ring lol

Daniel Faulk

Crazy to think he got paid 1/3 of the budget.

Jason C

Read my long comment. At least until I mention the water.

Jason C

Spill the beans!

Jason C

A long message, I know, but it's worth it as I mention details about a scene you might've missed and info about a few deleted scenes. Forgive my (not so little) rant: I hope the theme of the movie was clear by the end. There's a religious undertone of "faith" that's present throughout the movie. Unlike traditional alien movies, this one really isn't focused on them, but rather the family & their struggle with faith. The aliens are really just a means to bring about that message. It's definitely a unique film to say the least. It's not great CGI (passable for 2002), but the way they make it personal with limiting your perspective to just the family and build the suspense, it's great film. Most critics of the movie question the ending and the weakness of the aliens, but fail to realize their defeat was supposed to be a "miracle of God" rather than something that can be explained logically or through science. I will say this, on a cellular level, it's not completely far-fetched to believe a species can have a "make-up" that allows them to have a certain degree of resistance to an element, but not be tolerant to direct contact. It's the same concept as humans being tolerant to heat. Our skin can withstand direct sunlight/rays and even scorching hot temperatures for a time, but if we are exposed to fire or lava or something, our skin burns. Now tell me it's not possible for a species to have a similar interaction with water! They have a tolerance for moisture and can breathe our oxygen, but a more direct, concentrated exposure to the element...such as water? Their cells and skin cannot tolerate it. H2O is a chemical mixture by definition and they can't have it on their skin. There's levels to it and I think, at least as it pertains to SYFY movies, I don't think this is that unbelievable. And for anyone saying the aliens are dumb to go to a planet that poses a risk, I'd say that they likely had needs that outweighed the risks. And additionally, does that make us dumb? Don't we go to the moon and don't we continue to look for ways to go to Mars, despite the fact that there's no compatibility there for humans? We literally can't breathe on either and there's nothing there to survive on, yet we insist. But it's not okay for the aliens? Lol Also, 1 last point about the aliens. Throughout the movie, they demonstrate a behavior that never really changes. They're scared. They hide, observe, run away, and avoid confrontation unless they're in numbers and are coordinated. It's obvious they're not entirely sure about humans and aren't interested in direct conflict. That's why they came in groups that last night and started dragging people away (you heard about it on the radio towards the end). So when that alien was locked in the pantry, it heard Mel Gibson and immediately stopped moving, keeping quiet, and using it's camouflage. It could've broken through the door whenever it wanted (it did later when it showed up at the end), but it was by itself on a different planet and away from it's kind. And that same level of nervousness showed itself again at the end when it was swaying back and forth in the corner at the end. It was clearly threatened and was left behind to fend for itself. Creepy situation to be sure, but the alien was definitely scared. And the species was hiding from humans during the early stages when they were just doing reconnaissance. I say all this because some people criticize the water weakness and the aliens' supposed inability to get through a pantry door. I feel like, to avoid ruining your experience with skepticism, you deserved to hear a defense of those things. And yes, maybe I'm a little biased as I love the movie 😂 Bonus fact: During the scene where Mel Gibson went into the cornfield at night and had that encounter with the alien leg, it should be noted that you can hear and see signs of alien presence throughout that entire scene! Before Mel Gibson walks into the cornfield and is still grabbing the flashlight next to the dog, you can hear faint clicks. Then, when he reaches the crop circle, he pans the flashlight from side to side. During this, you can hear sets of footsteps to his right, as well as clicks a bit later. As he reaches the middle with the flashlight, the light disappears, then reappears again. This is because there's a UFO parked right in front of him. Front and center. Yes, Mel Gibson was likely staring at several cloaked aliens and their ship and was most certainly being watched. The footsteps on his right was likely the alien that followed him back through the crops and he had no idea the danger he was in until he saw the leg. Creepiest scene in the movie and the small details (seen in other parts of the movie as well) are what make this movie a great one. There are a handful of deleted scenes from the movie as well. One is a dead bird on the path home from town, which meant, like explained by Joaquin Phoenix on the T.V, that it hit a nearby UFO invisible in the sky. This places one near their home. Aka their cornfield. Another scene had the brothers discussing the wife and the crops being crushed. Another gave background to that mannequin that held his wife's dress that we saw briefly after Mel Gibson got that phone call from Ray (the guy that killed his wife). He had painful memories of that room that was cracked open and his wife stored her nightgown in there. And 2 more scenes, both during the final raid of the house. 1 where they attempted to block off the attic entrance as the aliens tried to get in (they broke through anyway), and another in the kitchen just before they reached the basement. Mel Gibson shared some last words with his brother (like he did just before with his 2 kids) and Mel Gibson appeared to have given up, frozen in place against the wall as his brother tried to think of a way out. THIS LOOK he had is what Joaquin Phoenix was referencing in the basement when he told Mel Gibson he never wanted to see that look on his face again.

Jason C
