Yeah, I tried not to reveal the nature of the movie in my reply, but I'm aware of said "gripes." There's videos on YouTube that mention those gripes and then there's videos that counter those gripes, lol. But at the end of the day, no movie is for everyone and I think you're right, they'll enjoy it. And any movie they enjoy watching makes the reaction better so it's honestly a solid pick.

I get it. I can't really get into my gripes without spoilers, so I'm kind of stuck. Haha. I'm sure Asia and BJ will enjoy it.

It's definitely not a weak story, but I respect your opinion. There's a great message behind the movie and the focus is on the family and their struggle with what's going on. It's an interesting story because it limits your perspective to mostly just the family and what THEY know, which was very likely how it would all go down if this happened (especially 21 years ago). It inserts you into a crisis and makes you consider what you'd do with YOUR family. I think the acting is phenomenal (especially the kids), the build-up and pacing is great, and the moral of the story is good. It's no flawless film, but then again.. neither is the rest of the movies on this list. I also think he released a lot of poor films AFTER this one, so it's definitely among Knight's better work.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I thought Signs was predictable and pretty weak story wise. Not one of M. Night's best.

I just watched the new Mission Impossible in the theatre. I kept thinking when are you going to start that franchise. I think you'll like it. But you should also watch Coming to America even though I voted for MI.

Signs is the perfect movie for you guys. It gave me nightmares as a kid, but as I've grown older, I've learned to appreciate the movie's message and how realistic the family's response to the situation is. It really makes you think what you and yours would do if this ever happened to you. Interestingly, Joaquin Phoenix is a star in 2 of these movies. Both Signs & Joker.

I would say ALL 4 of them! But if you start watching Mission Impossible then definitely watch the whole series not just the 1st one. Signs was awesome! Coming to America is a must watch comedy classic, and Joker a must watch as well.

Coming to America is classic and I love it but I have to say that from this list, Signs is my fav. I was actually going to suggest this one when you did War of the Worlds. Its M Night Shyamalan, Mel Gibson, Juaquin Phoenix, one of the Culkin kids (i forgot which). Anyway, s'good!! ✌️❤️
