Especially for most women, we can spot that cray-cray from a mile away. I had so much fun watching you guys discover this masterpiece from Stephen King and Kathy Bates. You can see why she won the Oscar for Best Actress for her phenomanal performance. Misery is one of those movies you never forget.

The Castle Rock TV show told the story of Anne Wilkes pre kidnapping Paul Sheldon. Really well done and has more of the Stephen King supernatural bent.

But I'm gonna sing the praises of her co-star, James Caan. He is as responsible for the greatness of this film as she is. She had the juicier part for sure, but he made me feel EVERY bit of pain he was going through! I was convinced that he was really suffering with every move he made! James Caan passed away last year, but he was an actor of tremendous range and ability. I've been a fan of his since the 70's, though NOT his #1 fan! lol Two films of his you really need to see; THE GODFATHER and BRIAN'S SONG. Those two films, along with this one, will give you an idea of the wide range of characters he was able to pull off, and the believability he brought to each one. Great, FUN reaction you guys! THANK YOU!!!

2023-07-12 15:58:24 +0000 UTCThis was always one of my favorite Stephen King novels, and it was one of the first times I thought someone had done justice to a King book when they turned it into a movie. Kathy Bates was absolutely terrifying - and amazing!! The actor, James Caan, you might recognize from "Elf" (he plays the father). But, the first movie I ever saw him in was "The Godfather" (I think he was in both parts one and two, but it's been a while). Incredibly well-produced, acted, and directed... Another great Kathy Bates movie, btw: "Fried Green Tomatoes" - she's just fantastic!!! Thanks guys, it is so much fun hanging out with you two☺️

That being said I'm a Stephen King fan (books more than movies) a giant Raiders fan (until magnetic gloves, can't hurt anybody and last few seasons events) and kinda an Asia & BJ fan(not a hobble you psycho) I just enjoy watching other people watching stuff I've already seen (ok that's crazy if you think about it) 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪😉😉

Also, King said that the theme of the book is one of his biggest fears. Another great movie with Kathy Bates that you're guaranteed to love is Fried Green Tomatoes. All the actors in that movie are top notch, but to see how Kathy Bates can go from Misery to Fried Green Tomatoes is awe inspiring.
