X-Men the film didn't come out until 2000. This show takes place in the 1980s. X-Men 134 is a comic book from June of 1980. There are so many "Easter Eggs" throughout the series, it's almost impossible to spot them all. Chief Hopper's uniform and jeep are almost identical to Chief Brody's in "Jaws".

I didn't with the XMen ... I think it was Xmen BJ mentioned. I wasnt really sure... I have never watched that, nor do I know anything about it.. But I think there was one other movie they mentioned, and we both caught it... Wasnt it Poltergeist?

ok, I should ask this question of you both, Asia and BJ. Do you want to know what movies they've referenced so far? I will only give you the movie and timestamps. Some of the characters you've seen and will see in future epis were based off of movie characters. Up to you guys if you want to know on that as well. It's not a spoiler, more like extras they just put in there. Whoever told you everything is an Easter Egg, they weren't kidding. The Duffer's had way too much fun with that aspect. Anything, straight up, ANYTHING you see in a scene could be an egg. Could be a clue. Could be nothing. Those, I won't point out but it may help you... it helped me only because I lived the 80's. It won't solve the whole thing but they do love giving you something to chew on. They're a little too good at it. I just picked up a reference to Season 4 in the last couple of episodes watching with you. CRAZY!

I'm not sure if you two are into war films, I would recommend "Lone Survivor," it's a true story about 'Operation Red Wings/Battle of Abbas Ghar in Afghanistan. I'm so looking forward to going on this journey with you! I can't wait for season 4 and see your reactions haha. It's such a cool series with a lot to unravel. I feel like I learn things with every rewatch. The flashbacks are in succession leading up to El getting out of the lab: 1. El is punished for unknown reason and left in the closet room. 2. Crushes coke can with her mind 3. Dr. Brenner wanted her to crush the cat like the can, she refuses and kills orderlies before they can put her in the closet. 4. They want to see if she can "hear" people from distances. A guy in another room read random words to see if she could pick up on them. Instead of repeating them, she channeled them to the speaker system.

Totally agree. We did NOT talk back to our parents or walk off from the dinner table before being excused. I’ve noticed that shows and TV commercials that were written/created from the late 90’s and beyond seem to write bratty kid behaviors like this.

Every season I would say I’m going to just watch a couple of episodes a day, cut to me finishing up a binge watch at 3am on a workday…still totally worth it! Lol! I actually did my own road trip to Atlanta to see the filming locations...it was so cool I hate that season 5 is delayed because of the writers strike Can't watch for the next reaction video!

I am rather old school when it comes to TV and Movies and it's rare for me to find satisfaction in a new television series. The Duffer Brothers attention to detail about the 1980s with regards to pop culture, tv, decor, style and music is just about perfect. As someone who has always been obsessed with the 1980s, this is the only show taking place in the 1980s that actually looks and feels like the 1980s. This show changed my life. I first watched in it the Summer of 2019 when I was 30 years old, and I remember being instantly hooked. I binged watched the first two seasons within a week, and then a month later season 3 came out. Between the show itself, the Halloween costumes, collectibles...pretty much all of 2019 in my memory is dominated by Stranger Things. Those were good times before COVID and 2020. Thanks for adding this wonderful show to your collection, and let me tell you....you have just barely scratched the surface.
