But, I honestly, don't think he meant that. I just think the writers made a play-on-words, for the Title.

Also Melisandre is always calling it the true death, so maybe you cannot fully go somewhere after death unless you’re burnt because if you’re not you’re still susceptible to be reanimated by the Night King. And you cannot come back once you have been burnt to tell anyone alive about it lol

Littlefinger took Sansa’s ladies in waiting and passed her off as Arya. That was at the end of Book 3. That not a minor detail - it completely changes the whole arc of the war in the North. Sansa’s relationship with Theon, etc etc etc

The guys in armor that Bron saw Ned fighting in the past were wearing the armor showing they were part of the Mad King (a Targaryen)'s soldiers. Remember the history is that Raeygar (sp?) kidnapped and raped Ned's sister. So that was Ned going to rescue his sister. The stuff the 3 eyed raven is showing Bron though is important though. Glad to see you picking up on things.

When she had her babies torch the warlocks in the house of the undying. Best is when she freed the unsullied and dropped the whip in the dirt. Then she catapulted the slave collars into the city. And now she united untold numbers of Dothraki into the fold with another epic throwdown. RIP Osha. She was a background character but she was GREAT.

As good as these two episodes were, each one after is so, so excelllent! You engage with the characters, you know their history and storyline, who''s good and who's evil... so we care about what happens to them. I just SMILE WIDE when I think of the stories yet to come between now and the end of the program . There is no episode that disappoints, each one is full of surprises, rich with detail, and lets the audience cheer for the good guys!

She was supposed to marry Robert Baratheon but she was stolen away by Rhaegar Targaryen ( the mad king’s oldest son and much older brother of Dany - he was also the one married to the sister of Oberon from Dorne, which is why him abducting and running off with Lyanna was such a scandal).

It took place before Game of Thrones, there was a scene in the recap where Petyr Baelish was talking to Sansa mentioning "How many tens of thousands had to die because Rhaegar chose your aunt Lyanna?"

He died so technically he is released from his oath 🙌🏻💖 also, GRRM, created amazing characters that are complex and also in every argument or battle, you can see where both sides are coming from or at least the reasons that they are the way they are. There isn’t always a clear cut hero and villain. It’s something we can all apply to real life as well if we try. Just magnificent writing

I think she wanted to know other things, like what Varys talked about he heard in the darkness when the magician threw his balls on the fire when he was a boy. She knows a lot but she doesn’t know everything about the afterlife. And having a necklace that keeps you young for 400 years probably means she has a healthy fear of death and what comes next.

2023-05-13 02:19:28 +0000 UTCIf you remember way back in the first season when Ned Stark caught the deserter from the wall and cut off his head even though he clearly didn't want to do it. The sentence for desertion was death and his honor demanded he carry out the sentence himself. That event is mirrored in the scene with Jon Snow executing the traitors. I had no doubt he was going to do it because everything he learned about honor came from Ned Stark. I've said it before, in this epic tale what goes around comes around every time. All you have to do is wait for it.

The addition of the widow's resting place in Vays Dothrak or whatever is a cool idea and kinda reminds me of Sati -- this super ancient hindu tradition where the wives of dead men would throw themselves on his funeral pyre (no problems with how its handled here -- I loved that it was integrated at all). There's also more stuff with the town of the maesters that was cool. Once the books finished, the HBO writers had a lot of strong threads established from George RR Martin's work. The issue is that there was too much, and the priorities of the pace needed to change. It would be like having a meeting that MUST go 30 minutes, and you MUST cover 6 points -- but you didn't know really that it was a mandatory thirty, going in -- so your dumb butt talks and talks on just the first 4 areas, and then has to scramble together only a little patter for the last two. I think that's why certain things fall to the way side in a way that's less than satisfying. Dorne, for instance, could have been awesome. It's like ancient seville/andalusian Spain, and racially, culturally different. More scenes in dorne establishing it would have made that conflict stronger last season. Or maybe more focus on the children of the forest to beef up Bran's arc? It's hard -- it wants to make everyone happy. Idk. It's a brutal juggling act.

Im sure people have told you Asia and BJ already I don't want to sound redundant. The book series GoT is based on. The 5th book came out right after Season 1 of GoT. The author George RR Martin promised two more books to finish the series. He hasn't finished the 6th book. One of the cliffhangers of the 5th book was Jon Snow getting killed just like in the TV show. So in essence Jon Snow has been bleeding out on the ground for 12 years lol
