IT 2017 chp.1

IT 2017 chp.1

Comments

I saw this in the theater with my husband and couldn't sleep soundly for days. I finally worked up the nerve to watch this. When I went to bed last night, right as I was falling asleep my CAT clawed her way up the side of the bed and when I looked all I saw was her face and glowing cat eyes and I flipped out. Pennywise the Cat. That said, this was fun to watch.

Andi Szilagyi

You guys are so fun. You get me through tough times

Eamonn Locke

I can’t wait for you guys to watch Chapter 2

Steve Hommel

Y'all still got the characters mixed up lol Ben did research on the town the chubby kid.Richie wore glasses and was always joking around. Eddie had the mom who kept him away from friends. Stanley was the Jewish kid who had his face bit by it.

Coolio

Lol, I didn’t read that you had included in your initial comment about that scene.

Michael King

Loved this reaction can wait for ch 2. How long yall think it take. Plz with the quickness. Can't wait love yall

JAMFAM2428

Another issue with the book was that. . . group scene, when they are lost in the sewers. Stephen King explained it, and it kind of made sense, but was still pretty weird. A lot of people forget THAT part of the book.

Michael King

Munchausen by Proxy Is what you’re thinking of BJ, except usually it’s not giving someone “gazebos” to make them think they are sick so you can control them. It’s usually the person is slowly poisoning/ making the victim sick, to get sympathy from doctors and the people around them. “Oh you are such a patient and kind person to care for your loved one so passionately.” The most famous example in pop culture is probably the little girl ghost in The Sixth Sense who filmed her mother putting Pine Sol in her soup. Your recollection of the name was pretty spot on the first time you said it!

Michael King

You two are too funny! Asia you are smiling/laughing more in some of these scarier scenes, which is good to see. Don't want any PTSD resulting from watching too many Stephen King stories. I love your discussions during the film. BJ should try stand-up comedy, seriously. He comes up with the funniest one-liners. You both are right on with your assessments. The first version you watched was a TV series, I think. This one (and Ch 2) were major film releases in which the characters are adults. So fun to watch. Have a greatt week, off to watch S6 E1-2 of GOT!

Rose Dallman

Great reaction! I love both chapters of IT. Can't wait until you do part 2.

Tracy Smith

Thank you guys for doing this. You da best!

Derek McCain

HBO Max is supposed to be developing a series based on all the Derry history in the books that didn't make it into either of the movies.

Jerry

When they first announced him as Pennywise I was mad. Tim Curry is the only pennywise in my eyes. But Bill did a great job !! He’s so scary!! I love this version almost as much as I love the original. They didn’t change things around and that is why I love it so much.

Michele G

Yeah I know what part you’re talking about ! They could never go there !! It was hard for me to read the book bc it was soooooo long. I love Stephen King but he’s so long winded. Explaining every single character from birth to present, which is great for story development but I am way to impatient for that. Maybe bc I had seen the movie a zillion times before I read the book so I wanted to get to the good stuff. I love the 1st movie but it left so much out. I am really happy with how they did this version. They were able to give more details the first movie had to leave our due to tv rating and length. I love both of them !

Michele G

As Asia would say "I'm not doin that" I'll wait and watch in the daytime. lol

Where is the poll Patrick L?

Munchausen Syndrome by proxy. You got it. They call it Factitious Syndrome now which is even harder to remember.

Mr Jackpots

The old version is much more faithful to the book, but this one is much more dramatic so I like them both. The cast of child actors is excellent, actually much better than their adult versions in It Part 2. There's a huge problem with the book which can never be filmed (you'll know what I mean if you read the book) and leaving it out weakens the main plot point, which is how the group have to be as one to defeat IT. The story is one of Stephen King's best and a very difficult book to bring to the screen. It's unique charm is bringing back memories of what it's like to be a kid and surrounded by adults who don't seem to be very aware of the world around them. I wish they'd put in more about the fire at the Black Spot which was one of the most powerful parts of the book since it dealt with race hatred and its tragic results. I think the director was afraid to go there. I recommend the book so you can get the whole story.

Mr Jackpots

Just saw your poll. I love both shows! I would say do "Stranger Things" but still do "Better Call Saul" after only because u already did Breaking Bad. Do both, they're both great shows!

Patrick L

Yeah , he's good underrated actor. He was in WestWorld too. Idk where u left off on Vikings, but if u didn't make it to season 4 part 2 I highly recommending rewatching it. It gets really good. U can tell their budget got a lot bigger. Everything improved especially the battles and fight scenes.

Josh

Different from the book but more of the spirit of the book

Jerry

Always love you twos chemistry . Love that you two are always yourselves. I can't wait for your reactions to " It " Chapter 2. 🙂🙏❤️ I hope all is well you two *hugs* 🙂

MichelleMyBell

The older one was made for TV, so this one they could really up the scare factor.

Alexis Thompson

*Insert Supernatural when Dean gets scared opening a locker* 😂

Darth Brooks

Lol. A “little” scarier than 1990 version? :) hey BJ, if was so hot why were you stealing the blanket 😁 can’t wait to see you watch chapter 2

Jerry

Yeah, I’ve seen most of it. I forgot the other brother was Floki.

Michael King

For sure. If u haven't seen the show "Vikings" I recommend it. His oldest brother Gustaf Skarsgard is main character in that show named "Floki." Really good actor too

Josh

This ish had me taking that leap from across the room to get back into bed 😆 My girl braver than I am

Jake Martin

His father Stellen is one of my favorite actors, and his brother Alexander was the best part of True Blood. I don’t understand why he’s only really done Tarzan and Kong Vs. Godzilla since true blood ended. It was hilarious seeing him in a rewatch of Zoolander after being familiar with him in True Blood. In case people aren’t familiar, he’s one of the male models that Derek lives with, and goes for ORANGE MOCHA FRAPPACHINOS!!!!! *jitterbug*

Michael King

Also , they used little CGI on Bill Skarsgard (besides the shape-shifting obviously). All the crazy movements, his pupils going different ways, and his crazy cartoon smile is all him

Josh

Yaaaaay!!!!!! I’ve been waiting on this one !!!!

Michele G

The actor that plays Pennywise, Bill Skarsgard..his family are all famous actors. His dad , and 2 of his brothers are all great actors

Josh

Watched this one in those massive imax like theaters and about shit myself several times throughout the movie. The jump scares did a great job lol

Deavon Richards

Finally

Marcus

I’m glad you got to see both versions, but to me this one is way better. You get more story and a lot scarier.

Mary Merry Berry

YESSS

Drew

Been looking forward to this one! Great reaction!! Can't hardly wait for Chapter 2 🎈🎈

Ed Garland

Clown sightings in 80s predated more recent sightings by 27 years.

Jason Kempland

Here IT is. This is IT yo. 👦⛵️🤡☠️

Jesse

The original TV version aired in 1990; The cinematic version premiered in 2017... 27 years later.

Renata McKay

This was a good movie, but could've been so much better in my opinion. And unfortunately, Chapter 2 is terrible, besides the opening scene.

Kingshawukee

This will be fun. “It” was the first horror book and first “grownup” book I ever read as a high school freshman back in ‘89. I loved it so much I feel the need to read it again every 5 years or so. I enjoyed the original mini-series and I enjoyed these movies. I suspect this is one of those stories that will resurrect and be remade every few decades…just like something else.

Bob M

Woo hoo! I am excited!

Russ

Now this is gonna be good. Hope Asia isn’t to traumatized by this movie lol

brooke atkins

YESS!! Get the blanket out!! Lol

Tyler Roth

Been waiting for this since you mentioned it in the stream. If I wasn't working I would've nailed 3 outta 5 questions lmfao. Can't wait to watch it with y'all, peace and love A and B fam!

Darth Brooks

You've made my night! Looking forward to this :) 🍿🍿🍿
