2024-03-16 04:31:19 +0000 UTCSer Barristan Selmy wasn't there in the beginning. He started off in King's Landing. He was in the Mad King's King's Guard and Robert Baratheon's King's Guard. He was going to be in Joffrey's King's Guard, but Joffrey said he didn't want him, due to his age, even though he was still the best fighter around. So, he decided to go help Daenerys.

So the Sons of the Harpy, it would appear to be, are part of the people who were there before Khaleesi took over.

I loved the scene with Stannis and Shireen explaining her malady. She’s great little actress - her tears at hearing how Stannis moved Heaven and Earth to find her a cure get me. She’s so sweet, she just wants to be loved and acknowledged by her parents. Melisandre needs to keep her boobs out of Jon Snow’s hands!

Even Jamie in his prime wouldn’t even try! They did him wrong. But the rest of it is still epic so we take the good with the bad.

We been hearing from the beginning that he's one of the best fighters alive, but he gets taken out by a bunch of untrained/minimally trained former slave masters in an alley? I know the dude is old now, but just a couple years before he died, he said he could take out those 5 King's Guard like he was carving up a cake. Idk if it goes down like that in the books. Just seemed like a lousy way for him to go out :( I liked that dude.

He came to join her because he served the Targaryens and said he failed them but always hoped to serve the rightful ruler.

2023-04-27 19:46:10 +0000 UTCSer Barristan, the silverfox gentleman, was a great character. One of my favorite little parts from the books was him having an inner monologue. I don't know if I get it fully right together, but when the Lannisters took King's Landing during Robert's Rebellion they killed Rhaegar's (Daenery's brother who liked to sing) children and later laid them infront of Robert. Barristan, who wasn't there for this moment, asked himself if Robert smiled at the sight of Rhaegar's dead children. Cause if he smiled then there would have been no army who could have stopped Barristan from killing Robert. Great reaction as always.
