So fun! Been wanting you to see this since last Halloween. One of the best horror movies ever made. The looks on ya'll's faces was priceless. The effects were real too, no CGI in those days.

Vindication. Asia so hyped for so long after that ended. I said at the time the thing is a better suspence and paranoia horror than It, and this got to both of them. Also, every time I've seen this movie (first time too) I was like, "Kill the dog." Working dogs worth their weight in gold, so if two guys trying to kill one of their dogs, you'd best bet there is a reason.

Kurt Russell has made some great suspenseful films. One of his best suspenseful films from the 90s, and one of my favorites, is BREAKDOWN, about a young couple driving in their car along an interstate highway, in unfamiliar territory. Soooo good! It’s currently streaming free on Amazon Prime. Highly recommend!

John Carpenter's "Apocalypse Trilogy" (The Thing, Prince of Darkness, and In the Mouth of Madness) are absolutely incredible!! Less scary films would be 'Escape from New York' and 'Escape from LA' (both starring Kurt Russell too!!) solid films!!

Just an FYI.....the 2011 The Thing was NOT a remake or a sequel. This was a prequel to the 1982 movie. It follows a plot that aligns with the creature's origins and introduction to Earth

The 1951 movie is very obviously from 1951. This movie is a remake and the 2017 is a prequel that stinks in my opinion. This version is definitely in my top 25 even though it is a remake it is one of the exceptions to remakes being bad along with the Scarface remake in 1983 also in my top 25. Along with Bad Boys 1983 & Fresh 1994.😉😉

Now you've seen IT (1990) and the Thing (1982). If you haven't watched IT (2017) and IT Chapter 2 (2019) please take a look.
I would love to see a "director's cut" of the new two IT movies cut together like the novel and IT 1990.

Ok, the worst part for me, was when the wiggly, stringly, bloody, thin tentacles, with hissing noises, came out of the dog in the pen! And, then they kept wriggling out toward the guys, and then the damn dog mutant grows spider/crab legs. Oh, and the guy's head also grew spider/crab legs to "run away"!! I saw all of this when I was about 7 years old in 1982, and this still freaks me out at age of 47. so glad you guys got to see this old classic John Carpenter sci-fi horror!! Loved your reaction!

he did test his own blood. right after he tests Windows's blood first, as he goes to do it he says "Now ill show you what i already know" i can answer almost anything there is about this movie. my fav horror of all time.... what will really get you good is that Childs was the thing at the end. how do i know that. because macready had that bottle of liquor filled with gasoline. it was his last molotov. childs took it and drank it. thats why maccready laughed at the end most people wont catch that one.

A couple of questions for Asia and BJ - Did you notice MaCready (Kurt Russell) never tested his own blood? And where was Childs (the other guy that lived) during all the excitement at the end?
Was the Thing killed?

id like to make ONE suggestion i think many subscribers will agree with. at the end of a movie when the credits come on, you should at least let a minute go by before you stop watching. there are a lot of movies that have something in the credits. THIS movie in particular didnt. but if you watch the prequel one of the most important parts is about 30 seconds after the credits roll so i just would like to make that suggestion

Here’s the thing yo. This is where I actually agree with Daenerys’s father, King Aerys II (The Mad King), when he said “Burn them all, burn them all.” Sounds like sane and rational advise in this movie. What a great sci-fi/horror flick. Asia and BJ all the way.👍💙☮️🧊+🔥

The Thing (2011) is still worth it if you liked this one. It's a prequel and kinda explain what happened before on the Norwegian Base. I personally prefer the older one, but the 2011 is still good imo. ;)

Multiple governments have set up permanent research stations in Antarctica and these bases are widely distributed. Unlike the drifting ice stations set up in the Arctic, the research stations of the Antarctic are constructed either on rock or on ice that is (for practical purposes) fixed in place.
Many of the stations are staffed throughout the year. A total of 42 countries (as of October 2006), all signatories to the Antarctic Treaty, operate seasonal (summer) and year-round research stations on the continent. The population of people performing and supporting scientific research on the continent and nearby islands varies from approximately 4,000 during the summer season to 1,000 during winter (June).[1] In addition to these permanent stations, approximately 30 field camps are established each summer to support specific projects
