Watching my husband play this game was so much fun. I with they showed more clickers in the show but I get why they didnt. My favorite thing was that over the 9 episodes you see Joel pretty much loose his identity of being a father. Then slowly you see bits and pieces of his old self coming back, in terms of fatherhood. Then I think after they left Wyoming he really started to feel a fatherly bond with her. And the end when he killed everyone to save her , it's what most parents would do to safe their kids, they would do anything. She really gave him a reason to live again.

He was David's (the bad man) number 2 guy. He's the guy Ellie had killed with the machete just before she ran into the dining room trying to flee from David. He was 1 of the 2 people who had her on the table and were about to kill her. He voice acted for Joel in the game, but he doesn't look too much like him. The person who played Ellie in the game is Ellie's mom in the show! You met her in the last episode as she was pregnant with Ellie. She modeled for the character as well as did the voice acting. The person who voice acted for Tommy in the game is the person who played that one guy in Kansas City with long hair. He was that crazy lady's number 2 and who was always with her. He was the guy that got his head ripped off by the bloater (the large infected that climbed out of the hole, throwing people around).

At first he didn’t want anything to do with her and just referred to her as cargo, but he grew to love her like a daughter and couldn’t stand the thought of losing another daughter even though a cure could have been created to save the planet with her death. He also knows that she would’ve sacrificed herself for the cure and he still couldn’t let her die. She knows he’s not be truthful with her.

Oh man, that would have been bad if they hit the dead body! GPS lies! I always wondered who set the fines...who said...well if you drive into a crime scene, that would cost $146... not $150...haha. My sister got a ticket in a school zone, but because she was a first-time offender and had no points on the record, she got away with attending a weekend class on safe driving and had to take a test.

Side note , I was in traffic court today & heard several cases ahead of my friends each one was worse than the case before. I person who didn't know the rules of the road was listening to their GPS and drove into a crime scene and almost ran over the victims body. $146 fine . My friend however had a speeding ticket in a school zone, the officer that wrote the ticket lied about the speed (greatly exaggerated the speed) and my friend lost his cool & got a contempt charge saying "hell I was going 10 over not running bodies over!" Over $2000. More of a funny story than A side note sorry

The idea that one life is less valuable than the sum of all lives would be akin to utilitarianism. Today, the most outstanding utilitarian scientists are battling moral dilemmas related to self-driving vehicles. For instance, with Tesla, what if you are traveling at a high rate of speed when an object in the road appears that requires immediate lane switching, but lane switching would kill a motorcyclist to your left or a van full of children to your right? Or what if there is an extreme drop-off, like a cliff? Should the vehicle swerve? What if the object in the road is a person? Does it strike the person on the road to save the driver of the Tesla? Should the vehicle drive straight into the object in the road, sacrificing the Tesla and the life of its owner, or strike other motorists on the highway? Interesting topic, is one life worth more than a sum of other lives? Would the programmers of the code that choose to save the Telsa owner be liable for the injury/death of other motorists?

Also, Ellie's mom was played by Ashley Johnson who played Ellie in the video game. These episodes were intense in the series and also just as intense in the video game. The director indicated of the show indicated that this series was about the power of love. Falling out of, losing it, learning to love again, the good that love can bring and the bad that love can make you do. Great reactions!

2023-04-20 05:55:06 +0000 UTCThese last two episodes had me all in my feelings. I wasn’t sure if I’d get into it in the beginning but I ended up loving this series so much. I’m not sure how I feel about Joel’s actions in the end. For the most part, I am for what happened because I can’t imagine him losing someone like that again. But when you look at the big picture, Joel is a mass murderer. Throughout the whole season, he just kills anyone who gets in his way, and often brutally. I don’t think it’s as cut and dry as him being “good” or “bad,” but it’s something I thought about for a while after I watched this. He took out an entire Firefly cell to save Ellie, and not all of those people were even armed.

2023-04-20 04:08:51 +0000 UTCOne of the scariest things about David is that he was a teacher b4 the outbreak so how many kids did he hurt b4 all this. Also the meat that they were eating wasn't deer meat is was the little girls dad that's why he said they couldn't bury him yet. That's why James was so slow to eat it and ate little bites. Joel is an absolute savage. Alot of people disagree with Joel's decision at the end but 1 thing everyone has in common is they all understand why he did it and how hard of a decision it would b to willingly sacrifice a girl that he cared for. He was not about to lose another daughter. They are also doing 2 more seasons to follow the second game. Ellie also didn't grow up with Marleen Marleen dropped her off at the federal school which is where alot of orphans r left bcause she was safer there than with Marleen. Marleen found her in the mall after she was bit.

There is a part 1 and part 2 in the games. They are great games worth playing. The guy that plays Joel appears in episode 8 and the Ellie’s mother in episode 9 is the actress that plays Ellie in the game. Anyway, great watch along! Keep well!
