The lizard part of my brain did, of course, but I did not want her to tell him. She did not bring herself down to his level. It was beautiful.

Dr. Melfi broke down during the session with Toni because she desperately didn’t want him to not be her patient anymore. She wanted to keep his association because it gives her access to the option of retribution. At the end of this scene, however, she wasn’t ready yet to reveal her true problem because it would break the doctor-patient professional relationship that she had with Toni. She takes her job seriously, and so she decided, for the time being, to keep the boundaries with him clearly professional, as any good doctor would.

Episode 4, Employee of the Month, punched us all in the face the first time it aired. The scene with Dr. Melfi’s assault was something that hadn’t really been portrayed in graphic detail on semi-mainstream TV before. It was shocking and heartbreaking to see. Lorraine Bracco really killed it in this episode.
We all wanted her to tell Tony. Social compact be damned.

I like how Tony was bothered that the shrinks knees could be scarred. That’s because he likes looking at her knees and legs. And Carmella was giving him that pissy look. She knew better. Haha.

I liked Haven. It was huge at the time. And Twin Peaks more than lost tbh. Lost lost its way, along the way later episodes imo anyway. Its still early days for BJ and Asia but more diverse shows, even Lost would be good. The new Jack Reacher series is phenomenal. They're doing a great job so far!

I wonder if they would like it. I know it was a big hit and has a cult following, but that is one show I wish I never watched. I liked the first season and then it was all downhill from there imo. I kept watching hoping it would get better, but it didn’t. Meanwhile, I watched til the end because I had already invested so much time into it. Like I said, I know it was hugely popular, but it’s the only series I can think of that I truly wish I had never started watching.

A number, but it’s not like the reactor market is saturated. Mostly, though, I think Asia and BJ would enjoy it.
That’s the main reason they should get into it.

I feel like Dr Melfi realized that on some level, society needs people like Tony, someone willing to inflict justice where there would ordinarily be none. That's why she changed her thinking on telling Tony to go to behavior modification therapy. One could also assume she may want the option later should she change her mind on seeking justice for the assault.

I’ve been recommending Lost for weeks. Reaction channels that include it see a significant increase in subscribers, to my experience.

For future shows to watch, after you clear a few of these? Highly recommend LOST. Pretty sure a good amount of the legion of fans will agree.

Episode 4 is a literal Masterpiece. I've seen this series 4 or 5 times in full now, and this episode gets me every time. I wanted Dr. Melfi to tell Tony SO BAD. The acting is just top notch... Wow.
Another great reaction y'all.
Oh and happy bday BJ!!! SALUTE!!

I remember reading an article right after he died. Said that the role REALLY took a toll on him. Had him gaining weight, (which is prevalent in the later seasons), smoking cigars, and since he’s a pretty tall guy he couldn’t get away from it. You immediately recognize him and people would hound him all the time. It’s not like Johnny Depp where he can get away from Captain Jack, for the most part, by not wearing the costume. What’s Tony’s costume? Just clothes. So essentially he was just always Tony. He had a great roll in Get Shorty as the out of work stuntman turned henchman for the antagonist. That was long before he was known. Also his role in Zero Dark Thirty was decent.

I was thinking about Gandolfini in some other roles that might be interesting for you guys to watch. The man really became Tony Soprano, so it feels strange to see him play a different character. To the man's credit as an actor though, he can make you forget about Tony as you see him become someone else. The Last Castle is an often overlooked film where Gandolfini plays the hamfisted warden of an antiquated military prison. Robert Redford plays a disgraced general who is sentenced to serve time at the Castle. I don't want to ruin the plot in case you end up watching it, but it's really a great movie if you ever find the time.
