So the sword at the beginning of season 3 being melted down is called ICE it belonged to house stark it is Valyrian steel. There are very few Valyrian steel swords in Westeros so far we’ve seen two ICE belonging to house stark (it’s much older then Ned stark) and the second is LONGCLAW the current holder is Jon snow givin to him by the lord commander of the nights watch Mormont who is the father of khaleesis right hand man since the beginning jora Mormont. Now they mention the doom of valyria basically think of Atlantis with dragons the ancient Valyrian were a magical people and the swords they made were infused with magic. Valyria is in esos think of Westeros as north and South America while esos is Africa and Eurasia. Now the doom of Valyria basically is it was destroyed by volcanos and killed all the Valyrian Except the Targaryens and some other houses but all the tech and magic are gone now no one knows how to create a Valyrian steel sword but they can re work it. Also a correction we’ve seen 3 Valyrian steel weapons 2 swords and a dagger the dagger used by the assassin to kill bran was using Valyrian steel very expensive and either priceless family heirlooms not easily given away and Valyrian steel will be important

Like on the first one here. You may not have remembered Polliver and his exact words when killing that boy if you didn’t watch the previously on. But you did so it reminded you. I did not get on the game of thrones train until the season right before the final season so I was able to spend many weekends doing nothing but binge watching. I could not imagine having to wait even a week to watch an episode much less a year or two. They literally focused on Ned's sword at the end of the preview and they discussed it. Then cut directly to the same sword in the opening moments of the episode. Yet they didn't make the connection w the sword they were discussing literally one second earlier. 🤦‍♂️

Yay! Just to clarify, the sword that Tywin melted down in the first episode was Ned Stark’s greatsword. It was called Ice and was large enough to make two regular ones. Joffrey has one which he named Widow’s Wail (lame) and Tywin gave the second one to Jaime. Arya’s kill count is now at 4, I believe.

The guy with Arya is The Hound (the dude with half a burned face) he's The Mountains little brother, The Hounds real name is Sandor Clegane while The Mountains real name is Gregor Clegane. Also the Knight "Ser Duncan The Tall" mentioned in the book Joffrey was looking at is the ancestor of Brienne of Tarth and Hodor which is why they're so tall.
