A note about what happened with Janice: When Christopher hit his girl early in the series it was made clear that it was part of their culture to forbid striking a woman unless/or until she was a wife-- then she was yours to do with what you will. Janice, being raised in that environment (a lifestyle she'd fled, became enlightened, and returned a "feminist"), knew that Richie was going to treat her that way from then on, that she was now "his" property. Seems to me that, although she believed their love was more special than those traditions, she'd made a promise to herself to deal with it just like she did.

I wasnβt sure about it when it first came out so I put off watching, but it ended up being one of my all-time favorite series. I have a bit of a crush on Cillian Murphy, so I suppose that helps π but itβs just a damn good show. Iβm sure some of your other followers could back me up on that!
