I am a bit late to the Patreon party but I finally made it. I've got some serious catching up to do. Tess was the one who told Joel to go to Bill and Frank's after she was bit. This was definitely a beautiful episode and we all would be lucky if we were loved this much.

Man. This one caught me off guard. It was brutal when Tess showed that wound on her neck and then sacrificed herself to help Joe and Ellie get away (one thing she got wrong - she told Ellie that she and Joe were not good people), and then this story with Bill and Frank.
This hit me harder than it probably would have ten years ago. My wife and I have been together 22 years, and we're both disabled now and getting old - we got together in our 40s at a point when each of us figured we weren't going to find someone that was right for us and had accepted being alone, and then we stumbled into each other. Most of it's been the best part of my life because of her, even though we've been through cancer and other serious illnesses and a lot of other kinds of hard times.
I get what Bill meant when he said that until Frank came along he was never scared. It's having someone to lose that can make it hard to sleep at night.
Thanks for sharing your reactions, especially to this. You have good hearts. Glad you have each other. Savor every day while you're young.

I just want to say...as another man, I ap;preciate and want to acknowledge what a real man BJ is. He caught on to every detail of this episode and is in touch with himself to be real about what this episode represents.

You guys haven't gotten quite far enough in GOT yet, but the actress that plays Ellie plays the 10 year old lady of one of the Starks bannerman's families. She plays a sassy role in that show also.

He might have been going back from a better position. Perhaps showing himself to take focus of his boyfriend who just came out. Doubt he would hesitate to risk himself to save him. Just an idea if you need some theories.

Sarah also turned down the raisin cookies from Mrs. Adler, and Joel forgot to bring home the birthday cake. All clear indicators as to why they beat the initial outbreak 🤙🏼

The only thing that bothered me about this episode, even though he was alright in the long run, was Bill standing out in the open with his scoped rifle. He was such a great survivalist that I pictured him using cover or him having some kind of mobile barricade with wheels. Kind of like a dolly where you tilt it to move it. I chalk it up to he was just in the heat of the moment and was acting on instinct and didn’t have time for cover. Anyway, watching this episode again with everyone was well worth it. It was even more clear the second time how great an episode it was yo. Thanks Asia, BJ and everybody. 💙☮️ 🏠 🛻

I needed tissues so bad the first time I watched this but didn't want to pause to get some so I just sat with tears and snot on my face until it ended. And it was worth it.

Remember he said it could be in pancake mix. His daughter wanted to make him birthday pancakes, but he said he didn’t like pancakes, so she made eggs. Maybe that’s why they didn’t get sick.

I enjoyed this episode quite a bit once I heard the director indicate why he decided to expand on the Bill and Frank portion of the game. He indicated that the series shows the pros and cons of love. He wanted to show that even with the world the way it currently is, there are pockets of love that flourish when the rest of the world has gone downhill. Although Bill and Frank's relationship was far from perfect, Bill's letter says it all that he hated the world and everyone in it until he found Frank. It is a small ray of positivity that has peeked through a very cloudy sky of negativity. Great reaction!

Im so glad you guys got the premise of this episode. Too many people gave this episode backlash for dumb reasons. They failed to see what it was really about and chose to see only what was on the surface. So Thankyou!

The radio transmission of the 80s songs began playing after they died. Joel said in the basement that Bill rigged it to play only 80s songs if he didn't reset the system after a couple of weeks. So a couple of weeks after they they died, the "trouble" playlist started playing. Nothing to do w the raiders (that happened in 2013, many many years before)

I loved how we got a back story to Bill and Frank since you don't get it in the video game.
I also like how they changed the story from the game....

It's episodes like this one that really embody the title of the show/game. It's not about "Zombies" or even the infected, really. It's about "the last of us" and how life continued past disaster. It's beautiful and a perfect story to tell. Loved it!

I wasn’t expecting an episode like this after watching 2. I was expecting more perilous exploration on the quest out west. Not a side story with gripping emotional depth. Can’t really describe it fully in words so I’ll just use a Forest Gump quote. “That’s all I have to say about that.”
