BJ will be a full blown germaphobe by time h is done with this series. lol

Michael Paddon

Mycology = "The study of Mike."

Jim Finley

Not huge into animated shows so I was surprised how quickly that one had me hooked.

JennaB

They literally told you why she is so valuable, BJ. She is immune, and therefore may be key to finding a cure or vaccine. That's the point of this entire mission. 🤦‍♂️

Julien

They make that blatantly obvious too. Idk how they didn’t pick that up right away

Adam smith

BJ, Ellie is important because she is immune and you can study the cause of it and maybe find a cure.

SylMyl

The things running underground that Tess was talking about were the wispy things that you saw coming out of the mouths and on the walls and floors. They use those to communicate with each other in order to increase their chances of survival.

Cynthia M Farrington

Wow Asia, you look amazing in that green top!

SylMyl

You must go on if you are feeling the show. IMO, the show only gets better. The monsters in the museum are called "clickers" because they have been infected for a while, the fungus has spread over their face so they can not see and they attack only by noise. Great reaction and looking forward to episode 3.

Sean G

There are different stages of infection. The longer someone is infected, the more they mutate and become more lethal.

Wayne Polk

What I love about this show is how realistic it is. It shows how people would act, it doesn't sugarcoat it. It applies logic to things like gas not lasting an how not to put you gun in your pants. Sure right now fungus couldn't do this right now but look at how fungus and mold are evolving and becoming resistant to our meds. More and more people are getting sick because of it. So sure it might not turn us into infected like on the show BUT it is hurting us.

Christina Terwilliger

No spoilers but there are several stages of the infected. The one that gave Tess the kiss is staged 2, the ones in the museum is stage 3... the infected was turning in the sun the same way a flower turns towards the sun... the cordyceps in the show is a real life fungis that does this to ants like the dr was saying in episode 1. Its also reffered to as the real life zombie virus. there are many types of cordyceps that affect different insects but this is mostly based on the ones that attack ants amd what would happen if it mutated to where it could infect humans too

Roberto O Colvard

Such a great show! I love episode 3! Best tv episode ever!

Christina Terwilliger

This is where I get off. Episode 3 is not for me.

Karim

tried to enjoy this series but it has very woke moments that made it a huge turnoff

JAKECharlesCRK

1 shot to the 🧠 will kill them. Problem is the one's that have been around for more than a year have fungus growing outside their head, which gives them some extra protection

Josh

It’s def a tear jerker

Adam smith

oh man.. the next episode guys.. prepare yourselves.

Tami Osburn

Cordyceps is just a type of fungus—there are around 600 species in the world. Some are used as a supplement, some people eat them (as mushrooms), one infects ants and causes similar behavior to what’s being described on this show in humans. Fungus in the real world can be attached over several feet or miles via something called hyphae (what you see coming out of the people’s mout on the show) as well. Mushrooms in the forest are connected this way and can send “messages” via electrical impulse to one another. I just read that scientists have deciphered up to 50 “words” that mushrooms use. Obviously not real words, but different electrical signals. When they say they run for up to a mile underground they don’t mean the infected people themselves, they mean the hyphae. Infected become connected by these filaments and the filaments grow into the ground. Fungus in the real world spreads by these as well as airborne spores. That’s why you might see a big ring of mushrooms in a field—they’re all connected underground. Sorry to nerd out, I just like science- y stuff 😊 Weird fact—the hysteria that led to the Salem Witch Trials was thought to possibly be from something called ergotism, which comes from the fungus ergot which can grow on grain. Among other things (including death), it can cause hallucinations and confusion

Alicia

I have never played this game or touched a gaming system since probably 1995 lol but omg do I love this show. It’s so fantastic and man will it rip your heart out. The episodes only get better and better. Episode 3 coming up is the shining episode of the this season. But they are all great. So happy you guys decided to watch this. Just joined your patreon for band of brothers but I’ll stay to enjoy this show with you guys.

Right on Asia. “The study of” is what I knew too. Then BJ asked “ What is mycology?” So I found out it is the branch of biology concerned with the study of fungi or in other words fungal biology. Doesn’t sound very appealing. Especially after watching these episodes yo. And if a mycologist you went to decides to change careers and become a urologist that I go to then one could say………….”Your mycologist is now my urologist.” Haha

Jesse

Bj , you're right they're blind. U guys saw your 1st Clicker , which is Stage 3 of the infection. From being blind they develop like an echolocation. When they click it gives off like a Sonar to track their victims

Josh

2 more hours and I can dive in. Can't wait to see ya'lls reaction especially after episode 1. Peace and love A&B fam!

Darth Brooks

What's better than the recaps is wait until the end after the criedts. There's a 3-5 minute scene called "Inside the episode." Where the directors & creators of the show explain what u just watched. They do it for GOT too. They'll answer all ur questions u have after each episode with no spoilers

Josh

yous fellas need too watch the Animated Series "Invincible" its crazy

Crispin

Here is a youtube clip of David Attenborough watching ants live out this show in real life....Cordyceps are scary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuKjBIBBAL8

Jordan Jackson

Real life ants and real life Cordyceps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vijGdWn5-h8

Jerry

Wow - Tess just asking Joel to be fucking positive. Such a great scene

Jerry

This is so cool - I haven't watched it yet - So I'm loving experiencing this with you : )

So...I watched this series because I adore Anna Torv (Tess). My daughter, who had played the video game, was crying towards the end of this because she thought for sure I would stop watching after her characters death. Happy to say we finished the entire season together in spite of the emotional rollercoaster.

Greg Hoenig

The great thing about thus show us that EVERY question that you have will be answered throughout this 1st season. Every episode is differently amazing!!!!

MYF TransportLLC

Mycology us the study of fungus and mushrooms, and the scene thar the beginning takes place 2 days b4 the outbreak in episode 1. The reason they were so hard to take down is that the fungus slowly replaces their flesh with more fungus. Once it comes out of their head and they become "clickers" they can no longer see but the fungus has encased the brain proving a form of armor to protect t the brain because if the brain dies the body dies. The longer they r infected the more the fungus takes over. The reason tess just stood there at the end is bcause the fungus was taking control and she couldn't move that's why it was so hard for her to get the lighter to light bcause she is losing control of her own body more and more by the second and what the kiss was doing is basically making her a part of that big mob of infected so she was connected to them just like the rest rather than her b a lone infected. This show is incredible the writers did an amazing job turning one of the best videogames ever mad into an amazing show can't wait to see the rest of ur reaction.

Convulsion Gaming

Great reaction!! Because the girl (Ellie) was bit, but never turned, they believe that she might be immune and that’s why Marlene wanted Joel and Tess to take her to a Firefly base out west (in exchange for a battery and supplies) so they can see if there is something in her that can help create a vaccine or cure. Cordyceps is a fungus that works its way to the brain of the “host.” Those infected ones who attacked Joel, Tess and Ellie looked like they had mushrooms on their faces because the fungus was literally just growing out of their heads. The tendrils can communicate over miles, which is how all of the infected knew where they were and in the end, Tess didn’t fight when those tendrils went into her mouth because she knew it was the end and she killed a bunch of them in the process to give Joel and Ellie time to escape.

Tara

Loved the reaction!

Wayne Polk

Yes, Cordycepes are the Fungi that makes people in the show "turn". Scary thing is, like the scientist said at the start of the first episode (the discussion back in the 60s) The "Zombie Fungus" is a real thing. They attacks ants and other small insects but can't survive in humans... yet. HeeHee Here is a 4 min video about the Cordycepes that I am sure someone posted after the first episode, but I am throwing up here just in-case... :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vijGdWn5-h8 The goal of Tess and Joel was to meet the Firefly guys, turn the kid (Ellie) over to them in exchange for a truck and supplies so Joel and Tess could go find Joel's Brother Tommy. That was why they ran into the building after seeing the blood, to try and find the guys to make the exchange. Also, you guys may have missed the poster that was on the wall in the first episode that says how long it takes, once infected, to turn. The poster essentially said that being bit in the neck/face/head area was the fastest time to be turned (or taken over by the fungus) as it takes about 5-10 minutes to be taken over, the Shoulder, torso and arm can take from 2 to 8 hours, while being bit in the the legs or feet takes the longest time to turn... 12 to 24 hours. So when Tess got bit, in the shoulder area (at the Museum), she only had a couple hours left before she turned. As for the show, I played the first game (only about 1/4 of the second one) and let me say that the show-runners did a FANTASTIC job with this. This season is only 9 episodes and I can barely wait to see your reactions to each and everyone of them!! You guys are nailing this!!! Great job!!!

Perry Taliaferro

All your questions will be answered! Each episode is so good. This show is extremely well done.

Margo Mango

So glad you guys are watching this amazing series!

Landon

YEEESSSS!!! This really what the money worth! MOREEE PLEASEEE!! I haven’t pressed play yet though, let go grab a drank👀

Anaya Imari

Good one yo. Haha 👍

Jesse

Woohoo!! I watched episode 1 earlier today and now I get to watch episode 2 without having to wait. I think someone mentioned that the main character, Joel, played by Pedro Pascal is in Game of Thrones and the girl, Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey is also in Game of Thrones. Pedro is also the main character in The Mandalorian.

Tara

It’s coming out in a little bit… today. ☺️

Asia and BJ

@Max ditto!

Joanie Archetto
