2 seasons down y'all. I see a lot of people in the comments givin yall shit about not catching on. For me it's refreshing. I was lost on a lot my first time watching. It must be even more confusing watching it fast like this as opposed to one episode at a time. It's also nice to see it is legit your first time watching. I get sus of some reactors and feel like they've seen it before and try to pass it off as their first time watching. Thank yall for your time and energy. On to season 3!!!!

This is probably why we shouldn't watch multiple shows at once. So many details went either unnoticed entirely, or simply gravely misinterpreted.

people frequently miss that the guy Jon Snow killed MEANT for Jon to kill him. He knew that if Jon killed him (a fellow Night's Watchman), the King Beyond the Wall would trust Jon and Jon could learn more about the Wildlings forces.

"I think he was the uncle, if my memory serves me correct" - BJ!!! Your memory ain't your friend with this show. lol - That was Maester Luwin. Maesters are wise men, scholars, advisors. Most noble houses have one on staff. The Lannisters have Maester Pycelle at King's Landing - the gross old man who pretends to be weak with a limp.

I really like Asia's theory about the White Walkers becoming active because Sam and the other Crows digging up the artifacts from The First Men (btw, those are ancient items, BJ, not just things that belong to current Wildlings) (no shade to you about that though, because I agree with others who say y'all ARE doing a great job keeping up! I think I had to watch it 3x before I really got things lol!). I thought that was a pretty cool and creative idea, Asia! It reminds me of my own theory: They say it in a low key way, but it is said by characters in the North a few times up until this point, "There must always be a Stark in Winterfell." It's never explained why, and just sounds like some kind of old saying. Welp. What happened after Bran and Ricon left Winterfell for good? Suddenly, there's an army of the dead marching south. I always connected those two things together. I don't think the current day people realize that's WHY there must always be a Stark in Winterfell though. I think the meaning got lost over time, and it just stayed as a tradition most likely.

Hey btw, you guys are doing really well with learning the characters names and towns and stuff. This is brand new for you and some of us watched these for many years, so as beginners you guys picking it up faster than I did! Also, Lord of the Rings, same thing. Unpopular opinion: don’t do subtitles. This is a visually beautiful show and you’ll end up reading more than watching. If you listen and watch carefully you will catch most everything. You don’t need subtitles. It might have helped to take notes, like a cheat sheet that way you know who everyone is without having to risk spoilers by looking online.

Qhorin Halfhand told John in episode 8 (?) to start a fight so the free folk would think John had defected. That's why he fought him in episode 10, because he knew that one of them would die anyway.

Asia, that was Stannis on the boat, you were absolutely right. He’s the one that answered “1000’s” when one of his man said they were going to lose “100’s” if they got off the boats. He fought during the battle but retrieved once Tywin Lannister rode in with the Tyrell army. And you were also correct when you pinpointed Sir Davos on the other boat, he flew off when the wild fire blew the fleet up. He is hand of the king to Stannis. BJ has it mixed it up, it wasn’t Stannis in the tent with the red woman when she gave birth, it was Sir Davos. Tywin (you keep calling him Tyrion even though Tyrion is his son) joined forces with the Tyrell family and rode their army to Kings Landing to help at the Battle of Black Water Bay, that’s how they won. The old man at Winterfell (Maester Luwin) who was trying to help Theon escape is not their uncle, he’s their Maester. Maesters are scholars and healers, and every important castle with a lord has one. He delivered all the Stark children and was also their teacher, this is why Bran and Rickon were sad to see him hurt. He asked Osha to give him a quick death so that he didn’t have to suffer a slow and painful one. You have been mispronouncing Sansa’s name lol. It’s pronounced San (like fan) suh, not Sen-sei. I’m sure by season 3 you’ll be better at matching the names with the faces. Try subtitles for the third season, see if it’s helpful. If it’s not, you can turn them off for season 4. Thanks for the reactions! 😊.

The white walker on the horse sure didn’t bother with him. Let’s see what happens next episode! 🤞As of right now, Baelish says Sansa should go back home. Although he did lie about thinking of Cat as his sister. So again, we’ll all just have to wait and see what happens before we draw any conclusions.

On the boats in the beginning is Davos (hand of the king to Stannis) and Davos’s son Mateo. Mateo is the one telling Davis about the one true god on the boat before the battle starts. Stannis and his army was on the boats that were farther back. After what happened to the first boats Stannis led his men into the boats to kings landing. Stannis was first up the ladder to fight. And after Tywin (Lannister father) arrived with his horses to fight we see Stannis men dragging Stannis away while Stannis yells no.
One thing that you may have missed is Danerys walking into the throne room at kings landing. She walked up to the throne in the snow and reached out to touch it but turned back. Then she was at the Wall and walked out to Khal Drogo and her baby. There was a lot happening but it is something to remember later.

This was a nice surprise today and remedied what I can only call a bad case of the Mondays.
Not much to explain beyond what everyone else has shared here. However, one thing I haven’t seen mentioned is that the guy who plays Jon Snow married the woman who plays the red-haired wildling. (The one who says “You know nothing, Jon Snow.) They’re currently expecting their second child together.

Something in the books that the show doesn't make clear is that the fight between Jon Snow and the Half-hand (his name was Qhorin, and he was a legendary fighter of the Night's Watch) is that Qhorin had a conversation with Jon before the fight where he convinced Jon to kill him so the Wildlings would truly believe that Jon must have defected. Qhorin sacrificed his life so Jon could act as a spy for the Night's Watch amongst the Wildlings.

Couple of things about the ending of episode 9:
Tywin Lannister (daddy!) was able to overcome Stannis' onslaught with the help of the Tyrells. Loras Tyrell (Renly's boyfriend, remember him?) was the first one through the door in that scene with Cersei and Tommen, before Tywin marched in.
I think Cersei was planning to kill both herself and her son with the poison. In war times you never know what unspeakable things they do to you once you get captured. As soon as her daddy strolled in through those doors, she knew they were safe and had retained King's Landing.

The old man in grey at Winterfell that died is not their uncle, just the maester of the fortress (every castle or fortress has one) and they are sort of like the doctor and wise person of each place. The Stark daughter at Kings Landing is Sansa - pronounced like San (rhymes with fan) suh. The other Nights Watch who fought with John pretended to pick that fight with John and pretended John was a traitor and gave up his life so John could enter the Wildling encampment and not be killed. Now they trust him. Every time I get a GOT notification it makes my day! Thanks Asia and BJ!

2023-03-21 01:51:54 +0000 UTC
The old man at Winterfell was not their uncle. He birthed them, helped raise them, taught them, loved them, certainly, but he's not related. The Stark kids have just two living uncles. Catlin (Cat, like the animal) has a brother and Ned (Eddard Stark) has a brother. Benjin. He was with Jon at the wall, is a Ranger and he is missing.
The daughter at Kings Landing with red hair is Sansa.
With Jon Snow and the Half Hand, the Half Hand did not turn on Jon. They discussed in the last episode what needed to happen for Jon Snow to have any chance of garnering respect from Manse Rader. (The King Beyond the Wall). We saw them plan it, though Jon clearly was unhappy about it.
Stanis WAS at the battle. He escaped when the battle began to turn because Tywin (it's Tywin) Lannister came in with his army. The person who was in the cave with the Red Woman when she birthed the shadow demon Stanis looking baby thing was Sir Davos, not Stanis. Sir Davos was to be Stanis' hand when he won the battle and took the Iron Throne. He obviously did not win and we saw Sir Davos fly through the air off of the ship when the Dragon Fire exploded, which sucks.
Oh and Lord Baelish, we know full well he did NOT think of Catlin like a sister. Only Jamie Lannister thinks of his sister the way Lord Baelish thinks of Catlin. Hope that helps.

So Luewin is a Maester- not their uncle. It’s kind of like a tutor for the Stark family. He asked her to kill him because he was dying slowly anyway. And no- that is not Stannis in the beginning it’s Tywin (Cersei/Jamie/Tyrions) father. In fairness they look similar.
