@atomic14 has managed to put speech synthesis on this small chip. I am considering a user programmable speech synthesis beacon as a possible feature for the firmware, where user could program:
custom message to be speech synthesized and transmitted
time interval between beacon transmissions
Also due to the new hidden hardware feature in V3 (of which I am not yet allowed to speak in detail) there might be opportunity to come up with some really cool features.. :)
Moreover, it appears that one of the developers has successfully managed to partially port and flash the custom firmware via USB into the V3 Quansheng. He probably doesn't share the same enthusiasm for my firmware, based on his comments about IJV due to the closed-source firmware, but I will still commend him, as I believe this is quite an achievement:
