Quansheng DIY USB charger mod
Added 2025-08-27 18:29:35 +0000 UTCI recently modded my Quansheng radio charger to work from the USB power source.
If you are considering doing that mod I recommend following IP2326 board from Aliexpress.
it fits in the front with a bit of dremel usage to make opening for the USB-C port
the spring contacts can be ripped from the original board and then straightened
this way once assembled the bottom cover plate will press them and due to tension they will stay perfectly in place
the original LED indicator can be repurposed in this new board as it has LED pads
Overall it works really well, and charges faster. It also seems to work with PD chargers where it actually negotiates USB voltages in 0.1V increments like 7.1V, 7.2V etc. I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately no. I was contemplating taking a picture, but I did use more hot glue than I'd like to admit ;-) The PCB is held back by enclosure plastic tabs so there is no risk of displacing the PCB when inserting the cable, however I had to add some hot glue to prevent the PCB movement when pulling the USB cable back. I also added a thin peace of EVA foam to the bottom cover plate to press the PCB down, to secure it even more. It looks like Quansheng might have been future-proofing its plastic molds to accommodate this/or same dimensions board, as it fits the board perfectly.
