The poison didn't kill the "Red Woman", and she reversed it on the man that was trying to kill her. And, Stannis is Robert Baratheon's Brother...Stannis was next in line of succession...Not Renley...Stannis had the legal right to the throne. Ned, even told "Littlefinger" and Varys that, before he died...And, he got the letter to Stannis, saying that Joffrey and his siblings were "Bastards".

Daenerys isn't literally a "Dragon". She is from a lineage, that is known for being able to control dragons. They were actually "Dragon riders".

Agreed. The only thing i can think of is they are worried about the reaction and all the technical stuff. or the screen they are watching it on is like small or maybe they have problems with the sound in their headphones. Itis to low and they miss parts i dunno. This show takes a lot more attention than most of the normal swill we all watch. Most series will repeat certain things over n over to the point of enough already. There is just to much going on in this series to do that. It's a refreshing change. HOWEVER. Unless you pretty much just concentrate on the show n nothing else you are gonna feel lost. And naw Jessica she dun not need to get a grip because what she said was true. And i am sure Asia and Bj appreciated her feedback. They seem to me like folks that want to put out a quality "product". Not wallflower snowflakes who can't take criticism. Now having said that. All three of us, i am sure, adore them no matter how lost they are lol.

that is weird huh? i wonder if its because they were getting Tyrion and Tywin mixed up - so they thought Tyrion was doing the stuff that Tywin was actually doing. When Ned was caling for Tywin to be punished for all the violence that Gregor Clegane was doing, Asia and BJ thought TYRION was the one doing it. And they still thought the dagger used against Cat and Bran was Tyrion's.

For your own sanity start a family tree for each of the houses or your just gonna get even more lost lol I love watching your reactions though, I am so happy you are on this journey.
Khaleesi (Danaerys) is the daughter of the Mad King, whom Jaime killed and earned the name the King Slayer. AFTER the Mad King burned Ned Stark's father and brother alive.

In a monarchy succession falls to the first born child of the heir and their children, followed by the next oldest sibling of the heir and their offspring and so on. In Roberts case his bastard sons have more claim to the throne than Stannis and Renly, who are further down in the line of succession. If Robert didn't have any male heirs, then yes technically Stannis would be next in line as he is the second eldest of the Baratheon brothers. During these times women did not rule kingdoms and therefore weren't part of the line of succession.

The Kaleesi or now "mother of dragons" as she is now called after the fire she walked out of, is the daughter of the mad king that Jaime Stabbed in the back. I had a lengthy comment on one of your previous GOTs posts(on the Episode 3 & 4 vid) explaining why she is currently not the one sitting on the Iron thrown after her father died from Jaime and the now former king Robert took it during his rebellion war.

Khaleesi (Danaerys) is one of the last of her house, Targeryan. You know how the Lannisters symbol is a Lion? Stark is Wolf, Baratheon is Stag. Well, Khaleesi's family used to rule as head of 7 Kingdoms in King's landing. King Robert Baratheon, rebelled against them and took power, and most of them died or fled. So the Dragon House used to rule the whole kingdom, and she is the last royal line of them.

Hey guys, now that you have an understanding of the map, and where most things are (although they will change it up as more "regions" come into play), it may help the memory to no skip those recaps soon. Haha.
Now I only say that because those recaps sure did help me and the mrs, especially when we were watching only one episode a week, there is just far too much to remember. Hahaha but starting with season 2, which you are now in, and well into season 3 and 4, more and more people and locations are going to be introduced, and seeing a little recap of who they are (or at least a reminder of what they said) can be a huge help. Especially when the sow may leave a person or a topic for a few episodes and come back to it much later.
Also, to agree with a few posters, please ask us fans any questions you may have at the end of your viewing the episodes as we can tell you answers pertaining to your questions without spoiling anything (Or at least I would hope we would do that) We want you to enjoy it as much as we did the first time through and I wish... I WISH I had someone to ask questions to when the wife and I started watching. Hahaha
I felt lost, a lot.
Hahahaha
Regardless, we are so loving watching you two dive into this humongous series.

Peter Baelish (Littlefinger) was fostered as a boy by the Tully family, the family of Lysa Arryn (with the boy who breastfeeds, the wife of the hand of the king who was killed in the first episode because he knew about Jamie and Cersei) and Catelyn Stark. Catelyn and Lysa are sisters and grew up with Peter. Peter developed a crush on Catelyn that he has never let go, bordering on obsession. That’s what Cersei was referring to, talking about the boy of modest means who found his way into the home of a very prominent family. Catelyn had been betrothed to Brandon Stark but when he was killed by the Mad King that then fell to Brandon’s brother, Eddard (Ned). That’s also what he was going on about in season 1 during the sex play lesson in his brothel. Peter Baelish is a snake, but the one true motivation he has is his love for Catelyn. She has already said he is like a little brother to her, but she knows he’ll do anything for her.
On another subject, I recently saw something talking about how Emilia Clarke, the actress who plays Daenerys Targaryen (Khaleesi) suffered a brain aneurysm after the end of season 1. I think she was only about 22 when she started working on this show, and the aneurysm was just a random thing. She had brain surgery and was back on set within a few days filming this season. She said she would sometimes forget how to speak and that learning her lines became very difficult. Not to mention that while filming the scenes in the Red Waste, they were in 90+ degree heat and she was struggling with that also. People complain about Emilia’s acting in this season but like…I don’t know many who could do better under the circumstances. For many of these actors this is one of their first major roles if not their first role ever, so they felt they had to prove themselves. John Bradley, who plays Samwell Tarly (Jon Snow’s friend on The Wall) said his first time in front of a camera was day 1 of shooting GoT.

I preface this statement with that I love you two & what you do but, (GOT but) you are not following the (simplified tv version) story very well & highly recommend reading before watching anything based on books. This (tv) story cut out characters & stories that could have made a big difference later in the overall story and progressed a bit slower with more depth. This goth chick I was with made me read the 1st book in 97 or 98 and I got hurt on the fishing boat in Alaska in 2011 & saw this show in Dillingham Alaska waiting for a flight to Anchorage . It was strangely familiar and I was one of those assholes that knew the story to a point. Reading books & shit Talking people in person as well as online is my whetstone. The story was definitely mishandled by the show runners and could have been drawn out longer. As a reader the next 2 books have been delayed a bit.

Reading the books are better. Explaining the events of the show (which is over simplified) is redundant to people who make money off watching TV & don't pay attention. I like these two watching stuff but, voted against watching this series for a reason. Statements like "they did stuff like that back then." (Fictional place &time 🤬) ect.

Watching each season's "History and Lore" would really help you understand a lot of what you just saw this past season. Daenerys is a dragon because her house is Targaryen, and not only is the dragon their symbol, but her ancestors conquered Westeros ON dragons. Though all the dragons died out over a century ago, Daenerys found a way to bring them back into the world. They do say in the books that they are believed to have "Dragon blood", but they really haven't explained if that means literal dragon blood lol

The reason Khaleesi (Daenerys Targaryen) says she's a dragon is because she is part of the Targaryen dynasty, and therefore has blood of the dragon in her . The Targaryen's are the only surviving family of the forty dragonlord families of Old Valyria, which is where they descend from. Dragonlords were the dragon-riding most powerful nobles of the Valyrian Freehold, and were said to be strong in sorcery. They were the first royal family of the Seven Kingdoms, and ruled for 3 centuries. That of course ended when the mad king, Aerys Targaryen (Khaleesi's dad), was killed by Jamie Lannister during Robert's Rebellion. The author of the books has said that the Targaryen's are not immune to fire but could tolerate more heat than most ordinary people. I think the pyre scene was a one off magical event.

Since you guys are coming up on season 1 episode 10 of The Sopranos, it’s going to be one of their more racist episodes. The creator just wanted to portray mobsters realistically and many of them were racist. A lot of them were unfaithful too so you’ll only see 2 mobsters on that show loyal to their wives.

I'd recommend watching 'Game Of Thrones Season 1 Histories & Lore' before gettin into Season 2. It's a series of short animated videos which helps getting a better understanding of what is going on if you haven't read the books. It will definitly answer some of your questions.
There is one for each Season. If you decide to watch them, only be sure to watch them at the end of each Season to avoid spoilers.

Not every house but the main ones yeah
Y I
2023-03-06 20:12:10 +0000 UTC
As people are saying, each house is represented by an animal. I don't think it ever really explains how they get benefits from the animals though. But for some reason the Targaryens have "dragon blood" in them which let's the control and receive benefits. The main benefit is that fire, or heat, or hot things can not hurt a dragon. The references of that start in the very first episode of season 1 where Daenerys walked into the steaming hot water of her bath after her brother fondled her breaststroke and said she is now a woman. You can hear the servant girl yell not to get into the water because it's to hot. Also once she got the eggs all the bad stuff that happened to her, that energy went into the eggs. Like when Drogos "raped" her in the tent from behind. The eggs were set up like a shrine. The camera even looked at the eggs at that time. Then there was when the eggs were in the hot coals and like BJ keeps talking about it burned the slave not her. That is 2 different things in 1 there. The fire was heating up the eggs like giving life and she did not get burned because she is the dragon not her brother who was killed by the hot melted golden crown. That's why she said he was no dragon. Fire can't hurt a dragon. Then lastly what made them hatch is because of the life sacrificed in the fire.. the witch... her giving herself completely to the fire, and the fire itself is what hatched the dragons.

The Targaryens originally conquered the 7 kingdoms with dragons and ruled for hundreds of years up until Robert's rebellion. Alot of the major families are affixed to animals, ie targaryens to dragons, lannisters to lions, and Starks to direwolfs etc.
