The 101st was under orders during D-Day to execute any prisoners they caught. Due to the speed they needed to move, they did not have the time nor the resources to house prisoners. A lot of the enlisted men weren't aware of those orders, only the officers. Hence why Speirs killed the German prisoners.

I love that we can watch with them. Most Patreons you have to play your own copy and try and sync it. Just being able to watch along like this is such a plus. Adjusting size and picture and etc is begging for a copyright violation. I'd just roll with it homes.

They used to call what happened to Blithe hysterical blindness. Now we know it's just a form of PTSD. In some people when they see too many things that nobody should ever see, they simply stop seeing altogether to protect their sanity. Blithe survived his wound, remained in the army and died in 1967. The mistake was in the book that the show is based on and wasn't corrected until Blithe's son saw the show and spoke out.
