Vectatus updates
Added 2025-02-14 18:54:25 +0000 UTCI've done some fine calibration of Vectatus to the point where I felt comfortable trying to connect the 5V output to my phone via USB C cable.
To my suprise it works!
The phone was able to enter fast charge mode (although it might need some adjustment as sometimes it jumps between fast/slow charge - likely the CV algorithm needs to be adjusted for USB output.
I was able to charge the phone from 3V source as well as from 12V source without the magic smoke.
The calibration was manual, but the next firmware implementation will likely feature a user calibration procedure.

So the switching between slow/fast mode in some newer phones is caused by the fact that Vectatus shows up as a fast charger (CC resistor combination), but due to input power source limitations (small battery, solar etc) it cannot always deliver fast charge current. The phone detects it as a partially connected cable etc - but continues charging with as much current as it can get. If the Vectatus is powered from stronger power source, the fast charge remains intact. Which is very good and works as intended. Both USB input and output have separate 1.5A resetable fuse.
