also the wardrobe in this show all mean something. When they wore green they only cared about the money. Then it became more blue - about walters meth/aka his 'legacy' and it wasn't about just the money. then it gets darker, in my opinion rearing for black. Death.

the book at the end was a gift from Gale - and gale wrote that note in the front of the book 'to my other favorite W.W." which was in the same handwriting as the walt witman stuff found in Gales apartment. Hank put it together after reading that in about 30 seconds.

The reason Mr. White had an worried expression on his face after Lydia shook his hand when they made the oversea’s deal was because she said. “We’re going to make a lot of money together.” It’s the same line Tuco used when he made his first, and last, big drug deal with him yo. He beat No-Doze to death right after that so it was probably a bit of a horrific flashback on his mind too.

Walter seems to adopt habits of the people he has killed. After he killed crazy8, he started cutting the crust off of his sandwiches. after Gus, Walter started dressing sharper and speaking more deliberately, then after Mike, he asks for ice in his drink instead of straight because Mike drank his on the rocks. It's all subtle, but it's there.

I'm conflicted. Hank had to find out obviously. That being said, the way they did it was weak IMO. This is the biggest, most important scene to date and it was underwhelming to me. There are so many more creative ways he could've found out. He should've walked upon a scene where Walt was doing something and Walt had to choose whether or not to shoot hank. Love the series but a huge missed opportunity here imo.

Remember that Gale recited that poem to Walter? "The Learned Astronomer"? He was a Walt Whitman fan and they found the same book in Gale's apartment. They also found his (Gale's) notebook, detailing the procedure of how they cooked and it kept talking about a "W.W." Hank asked Walter for his opinion on the chemistry and Walt said, "It's probably Walt Whitman", but he (Gale) was actually referring to "Walter White". Gale gave Walter the same book as a gift and signed it "To my other W.W." and since Hank is a badass, he recognized the handwriting was that of Gale's. Hank's mind was just blown.

When season five originally aired there was a long break of many many months after episode eight. So it ended like that with the look on Hank's face and then you had to wait like half a year to see episode 9. It was brutal.

5.8 does a lot of cool callbacks to the whole journey: - The fly buzzing around - Walt to Jesse: "We? Who's we?" (Jane said this to Jesse) - Walt's outfit when he meets with Lydia is the same one he wore the first time they meet Tuco out in the junkyard - Walt to Lydia: "Learn to take yes for an answer." (Mike told Walt the same thing) - Lydia: "We're going to make a lot of money together." (Tuco said that to Walt) - The painting in the motel Walt comments about seeing before is from the hospital, when he's getting his cancer diagnosis - Walt's outfit during the prison montage is the same one he wears when he kills Crazy Eight (also parallels Gus' yellow shirt he would wear at Pollos, which you clocked) - The hand drier Walt punched - The shots of Walt's backyard in the last scene are almost exactly the same as shots from the cryptic black and white openings in S2

The book Hank was reading had Gale's handwriting in it and Hank knew it was Gale's handwriting, he recognized Gale's handwriting and the message that was in Gale's notebook was so similar that Hank immediately recognized his handwriting, so he knows Walter is the one he's been looking for all this time, or at least now he knows he Missed the fact that Walter has been a part of the whole thing all this time, at least as far back as when Gale was still alive. So now he knows Walter is one of the Monsters he's been chasing and he was right under his nose all the time of this investigation!

The book was a gift from gale. The quote he wrote into it for walt. Was the same diary entry about the gift to walt in his diary that hank had and was investigating. Thus linking him to gale betaker.

Why did Walt kill Mike? Walt could have just as easily run like Mike said, but Walt's ego is set on him building his empire. Since they can't get money to Mike's guys anymore, and since someone already was going to flip, Walt sees no choice but to kill them. But he knows there is no way Mike would stand for that. Mike would kill Walt in a second if Walt ever tried anything. So the only thing left for Walt to do is kill Mike first. Then he can go after Mike's guys.
