Love me some Jeffersons love George shirt😉🤣

Fan service done right means you are giving "the fans what they want". And I was about to comment that the show is literally made by the same producers/writers, not some knock offs who came in later with their own version. You probably think of El Camino the same way no? If I like something, I tend to want to see/experience more of it.

Clockwork360

With all due respect Dan, what kind of nonsensical comment is this? While I haven't really come across anyone saying BCS is "better" than Breaking Bad, it definitely sits right up there with it. Not underneath, not far below, but as an excellent addition to the mythos. We're talking about movies/tv shows here cuz, and while if I ever did run across anyone like you describe, my first thought would just be that they are entitled to their opinion, I don't have to agree though. However I wouldn't need to bash them and make claims about a person you really know nothing about. Kinda makes you seem like the one trying to be "edgy" lol.

VIKINGS

Judhur

And rip off? How is it a ripoff? It’s literally created and made by the same people as Bb. Using that logic all prequels/sequels are rip offs to you.

Adam smith

You’re entitled to your ignorant opinion, I’m not gonna argue with you. I’m just glad I can enjoy things and recognize true masterpieces and masterclasses in cinematography, writing, story telling, and character development. And when Asia and Bj watch it I’m sure they’ll agree as do the million others that enjoyed it.

Adam smith

Thankyou! I couldn’t have said it better myself! It’s a shame when people don’t recognize top tier television when they see it

Adam smith

Reactors get a lot of hassle from some Game of thrones fans. They expect them later, to remember nearly everything character wise, from early on, or every little detail, and some are rude to them too if they don't. I've seen it elsewhere. Its insane pressure. Then expect the reactors to drop an episode every couple of days. I personally wouldn't recommend it yet.

Game of Thrones!!!!!

Richard Griffin

Trailer Park Boys is criminally under-reacted to.

dabbingcannasseur

It's as good? How? By being a total ripoff of it? By being a bastardized form of it? No show in television history has been as reliant on another show as Better Call Saul been has been on Breaking Bad. So much of BCS is just fan service for

Dan

Dan big bang theory takes the title of most overrated show in history lol. BCS is definitley definitely worth watching. It’s just as good as BB and really gives the characters a lot more depth

Adam smith

True Detective, The Wire, Sopranos, Deadwood, Trailer Park Boys

Don Quixote

Hard to find something that answers this outright. Vince did not work in writing for BCS after the second season. He came back and helped write the last few episodes. https://richmond.com/entertainment/richmond-native-vince-gilligan-chats-about-writing-the-final-episodes-of-better-call-saul/article_f9dde95a-2b41-5989-8e59-bc129bbba6f6.html

Knox Harrington

Better Call Saul is definitely worth watching.

N M

Better Call Saul is the most overrated show in history. People don't actually think BCS is better than Breaking Bad, but they love SAYING that it's better because (1) they think they're making an edgy claim, (2) they're trying to get a reaction out of people, and (3) they think their love for BCS makes them superior to all the "lowbrows" who love Breaking Bad. The people making this claim are the same ones who claim that Starbucks is toilet water and that some unknown espresso stand in their town (whose coffee tastes the same as Starbucks, btw) is infinitely superior...this is all just hipster bullshit, it's somebody trying to pull rank and feel superior to others.

Dan

I'm sorry but I wasn't aware Vince stepped away in BCS, I searched around trying to find any article about this but couldn't. As far as I know Vince was apart of the entire show and is credited in almost every single episode. Could you give a link or suggest where we can find this information?

Clockwork360

Both Shows are about gaming the system but set with two different paths. BB at its core is about a genius level intellect that makes its way into the criminal world and tries to survive it. BCS is about a con man trying to overcome his ways and be "moral" in a world where corruption is all around him. Saul if you look at the series close enough is about a master level social engineer that gets equipped with the tools needed to become a terror, and those close to him trying to bring him out, yet getting sucked into his "Chicanery" whether he intends it or not. Sorry guys but the level of writing it takes to achieve this type of believable story telling is unmatched. Call me a fan if you like (I'm ok with it), but I consider myself very critical of the things I watch because I love attention to detail. This is great writing, and story telling at its finest. Now are there slow moments, absolutely, but those slow moments are always a build up to a bigger pay off that leaves you asking about the details of the scene. The question is, do you understand the pay off or does it need to blow up in your face like another suggested? I've said this several times on here already, but what sets the entire series to greatness is the foreshadowing of (I'll just call it, "the mug"), and the very end of the series where everything about "the mug" is suggestive of what type of person we were dealing with the entire series. Obviously there are others in terms of set up and pay offs that are phenomenal, but this little tidbit can be overlooked easily by even those that have watched the series. So I politely disagree, and I'm not mad (Not that it was aimed at me personally) but there are so many great things about this series that if you are a breaking bad fan, just can't be overlooked.

Clockwork360

Lol I get this reference

Clockwork360

Idk man Better Call Saul fans are some different breed and they get so mad when people don’t like it.

Knox Harrington

Lol Adam you don’t know anything about me so chill with the assumptions. Even though I was bored for most of BCS, I still watched every single episode hoping it would be epic in the end. Never came close to Breaking Bad. No disrespect to those who like it; I just can’t relate to the appeal of something so slowly drawn out over 5 seasons. Vince Gilligan stepped away from Better Call Saul in season 2. Why do you think he did that?

Knox Harrington

I'm currently watching "Better Call Saul" for the first time. I'm watching episode 9 of season 3 while typing this comment. While I think it is a good show, it's no "Breaking Bad". BCS is drastically slow compared to the predecessor. Personally, without spoiling anything, I find the stories about the other characters more interesting that Saul's. That being said, I do like seeing the evolution of seeing a down on his luck man become a "criminal" lawyer.

Christopher McBride

Adam smith

very true I remember getting all excited thinking it would be like BB but by episode 4 I was yawning and gave up on it

jay

I agree I tried to get into better call saul but it was so boring it's nothing like breaking bad, I have no idea why people are recommending it

jay

I joined your Patreon just for your Breaking Bad content. Great stuff. Thank you! I know the people are gonna demand Better Call Saul but my god, it is so boring. It’s the opposite of Breaking Bad.

Knox Harrington
