Gran Torino

Heartbreak Ridge has got to be my fav with this almost tying for first. I love the comedy in that. Lmao. He’s a whole mess in everything he’s in and or directed. You named the good ones too. Nice.

Heather C.

Walt had terminal cancer. He figured going out like that was the best way to protect Tao and his family. The Christlike pose he fell into was not a mistake, but a deliberate symbolic pose.

Dan Gonya

That car is absolutely awesome. My dad has a 68 Torino that he takes to shows all the time, but when he was younger, he had a 74 Gran Torino, but that was basically the starsky and hutch car.

Dan Gonya

BJ, you're absolutely right in calling that M1 garand a WWII rifle. It was the standard issue military rifle through the Korean war until it was replaced by the M16 in Vietnam. Lots of people call the AR-15 a weapon of war, but it is not. The M1 absolutely is.

Dan Gonya

So bittersweet... a huge heart hidden behind a growl and grumble. Men of that generation expressed love in a very different way.

Quiche

yup and a lot of people don't understand with working class older generations no matter your race in America racial jokes and jabs were very common I spent the first 15 years of my life in Detroit and there was an old racist blk dude that would let me (I'm white) and my mexican friends hang out on the porch with him whilst he cracked racial jokes about everybody and nobody took it to heart because we understood what generation he was from.

Kevin Przy

Try Million Dollar Baby and Unforgiven for more great Clint.

Jason Augustine

The kid who played Tao is now complaining because of the racist comments in the movie. They don't get the meaning and Walt's journey.

Jason Augustine

Wow! I remember watching this movie but watching it again felt like my 1st time. I was shook at the ending. 😢

girlygirl9983

They don't make men like Clint any more. Maybe, it's a good thing, but a loss in my others. He has been brilliant as an actor and director over the years. His westerns are iconic, with The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, right up to Unforgiven. Few play a tough guy as believably as he does.

Michael Paddon

The Korean War was after world war 2.

Dawn

It's hard to believe you'd never seen a Clint Eastwood movie before this one. I recommend: Heartbreak Ridge; The Outlaw Josey Wales; Play Misty for Me (his first film directing, as I recall); all five Dirty Harry movies; the three "spaghetti westerns" that got his name out there.

Chryss Guiler

One of my favorite Eastwood movies, for sure. Oh, and coffin nails are cigarettes!

Chryss Guiler

Such a great reaction! Asia, you had me tearing up at the end. Even though I’ve seen it. Such a great movie and reaction! Million Dollar Baby is another crazy good movie! Much love🤓🤠❤️

Justin Doggett

If you like Clint Eastwood, you should check out his modern western classic, Unforgiven, co-starring Morgan Freeman.

Ed Pawley

Had to come over here from YT edited version werent satisfying enough 😝 feels like its been 3hours watching this so good

Kausion

Love this movie, Love the car and Asia I was crying at the end too.

Christopher Dietz

Awwwww, we love you Tica!! <3 <3

Asia and BJ

The way Clint directs movie is one of the best it is all about the story no CGI crap just plain straight up story telling. And the man is in his 90's and still directing and acting.

Richard Griffin

Beautiful movie .. I’d never seen this Asia & BJ. I’m a mess but tyvm! I read this in comments & it all clicked: There is no greater love than this, to lay down one’s life one’s friends - John 15:13 Love y’all ♥️

Tica

Coffin Nails are cigarettes

Gary

Remember when Marty called himself Clint Eastwood in Back to the Future 3?

Tom Occhipinti

It was a redemption story. He felt guilty his whole life for killing people in the war. Now he was able to save some. By dying. Notice when he died, his arms were stretched out like Christ’s. That’s a common motif in movies when characters sacrifice themselves for others.

Tom Occhipinti

My Way is correct. The of kind of man that Walt was he could never die a slow death in a hospital bed. That probably scared him more than anything.

s8150f

Great reaction! Scars of war had taken its toll on Walt. Enjoyed the ending.

Dan63

Love!

A few other great Clint Eastwood movies are unforgiven, in the line of fire and heartbreak Ridge.

Michael Lynch

Beautiful reaction to a beautiful film, by two beautiful people. I can't think of two people I'd rather watch this film with than you guys. This is probably the least predictable movie I've ever seen, and i saw it back in 2007 in its original release. No one has a clue what to expect in this movie, and no one can see the end coming. And everyone is crying by the end too. Thank you guys, for doing this one. Check out Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry some day. He was still a rising star in movies when he made it, but Dirty Harry shot him into superstardom. You won't be sorry you watched it. Peace, and Merry Christmas!

Michael Wise

Also directed by Clint - "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". Was in Savannah during filming, but no sighting of Mr. Eastwood (or the other cast), unfortunately - just a lot of lights and equipment lol

daisy

"Get off my lawn!" 🤣 such a great quote... and the older I get, the more I can relate to it. Love the POV of this movie about generational and community respect. FYI - Walt was in the Korean War. I had a relative in the same war and heirlooms passed to me from their travels during that time. He wasn't even old enough to be in the military. Lied about his age. The white guy walking with Sue right around the 38 minute mark is Clint Eastwood's son, Scott Eastwood. He is nearly a carbon copy of his dad. I have yet to watch a movie directed by Clint Eastwood that is bad. You should check out Million Dollar Baby. Academy award winner for best picture and director. I can relate a lot to Hilary Swank's character. He won in the same categories for his Western, The Unforgiven, also a must see. Asia, you have to see a photo of young Clint Eastwood... he is gorgeous!

Stacey Capito

Agh! Here I am weeping in the middle of the afternoon. Not gonna lie, the racial slurs made me cringe each time, but still a great movie showing someone making the ultimate sacrifice for people that he never thought he'd become friends with and grow to love. His evolution was heartwarming. Excellent reaction too y'all! Thank you!

daisy

Good morning!!! Have a beautiful Friday and enjoy your day off. You deserve it.

Asia and BJ

Off from work today and catching up on all the Patreon movies I haven't been able to watch yet. This is such a great movie. 💜

Stacey Capito

It's a brilliant movie. Eastwood is incredible.

Stacey Capito

Believe it or not, I've never seen this. Ready to watch for the first time with y'all whilst working from home today! YAY!!

daisy

This is a great movie, my favorite parts are when Eastwood and the neighbor girl are interacting.

Jeremy Mast

OMG, this is one of my All-Time Top 5 movies. I cannot wait to watch it with you later! Yay 😍
