My dad is a lawyer, and I was pre-law in college before I switched majors. They consulted criminal attorneys during the writing process to make sure this movie was extremely accurate when it comes to the criminal process, from start to finish. From discovery, which is the gathering of evidence pre-trial (Joe Pesci interviewing witnesses), to disclosure (the prosecution cannot withhold evidence from the defense or else it's a Brady violation), to jury selection. It also showed a very bad example of cross-examination (the stuttering lawyer getting caught with the witness having reading glasses rather than prescription eyeglasses), and a very good example of cross-examination (nailing the witness saying 5 minutes when he made grits that took 20 minutes). They even showed voir dire, which is the questioning of an expert witness about their qualifications before being allowed to give their opinion in court (if a normal witness gives an opinion, then the other attorney would object on grounds of speculation). He admitted the picture of the tire mark that was taken from farther away which showed the tire going over the curb into evidence first, before asking the witness about the picture, because you can't ask questions about anything unless it's been admitted as evidence. This movie is a favorite and often quoted movie among lawyers because of its accuracy.

2023-12-06 02:06:58 +0000 UTCIf you notice, there are no cuts in the scene where Joe Pesci does that magic trick. I had no idea how he did it when I was a little kid. Then as the years went by, I read a few magic books, learned quite a few moves and techniques, and then happened to put this move on. Low and behold I see him do that trick and new exactly how it worked. He really did perform the trick, and did a really good job of it. Post a reply if you are curious as to how it's done.😁

Vinney and Monna Lisa stayed at 3 different hotels and each hotel had early morning issues (whistle, pigs, and train). Joe's and Monna Lisa's accents were soooo Brooklyn. Fun Fact: The judge played Herman Munster on The Munsters, and was one of the cops in "Car 54 where are you?" and YES Pet Cemetery.

JFK with Kevin Costner, regarding Kennedy's assassination - A must see imo! And Leo in Lethal weapon 2 3, 4, with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. And Raging bull with Robert De Nero, another classic. Great reaction as always!
