Monty Python is not a person but a comedy troup out of Britain in the 60s & 70s. Most of their members went on to become great comic actors on their own and/or work behind the scenes. This film is arguably their Best, though many argue for Life of Brian. They began as a stage group, then had a sketch comedy tv series (Monty Python's Flying Circus), then the movies. Eric Idle has also turned Holy Grail into a Broadway musical called Spamalot. They had a sold out reunion show a few years ago and it was awesome, even though some members have passed away.

Monty Python are considered the fathers and kings of post-modern comedy, where the humor doesn't come from the usual pattern of a joke, but by deconstructing the joke and turning it on it's head and throwing you for a loop with something totally unexpected (against the pattern).
