This was recorded in 1964 as a comment on civil rights for minorities that were being implemented for the first time. It is a direct call for an end to racism through progressive action both spiritually and through legislation for equal rights and protections under the law. Fun fact: Dr. KING invited Bob to sing this at the million man March. Bob accepted and performed for the crowed right before the historic "I have a dream" speech. I love Bob Dylan yall! ♡
