Lol That's funny that they show how a woman can outdrink a man. Science indicates that women can not metabolize alcohol faster then men can. So she's more likely to blank out or throw-up because she's fun size standing at 5'7 and probably 120lbs. But if she drank prickly pear Juice prior to drinking it would reduce the alcohol effect and that's just a theory. Just a little scientific fact. However I do like her in Invasion of the body snatchers and Animal House. The ark of the covenant has already been discovered but I believe the Church has it. I've come across an article that suggest the ark was right under Jesus when he was crucified and where his blood dripped, it landed on top of the Ark itself and that blood is being researched because its still alive. The shroud of Turin is evidence of Jesus being here, for the light that emitted from Jesus, when he ascended into heaven, was so bright it left his imprint on the shroud itself and is compared to the brightness of a Nuclear blast, the light was that intense. The death, that came out of the covenant, was the last plague that took the first born children in Egypt during the Exodus. The Ark of the covenant holds the 10 commandments but remember there is 11 commandments for Jesus gave us his final commandment, 'Love one another as I have loved you". You can't go wrong with Indiana Jones until it gets silly with the Crystal Skulls addition.

Wow ! You really know how to be offensive and marginally attack my first ammendment rights while pretending to profer a compliment. Please don't bother to reply; I will not engage in further discourse with you. This lovely forum of entertainment is no place to start a religious debate or argument, and I would not insult Asia & BJ by abusing their willingness to share their experiences with us.

Melissa Meeks

Wow! You really know your cult history! Nicely done, Melissa!

The Ark of the Covenant was the sacred resting place of the 10 Commandments tablets. It was holy for the Israelites and was to contain the glory of God. Man cannot look on the true presence of God becasue it is too much for our physical bodies to handle, which is why Indy & Marian didn't melt when they kept their eyes shut. When God gave the commandments and all his instructions to Moses on the mountain, he spoke to him from a whirlwind because Moses could not look at him directly, yet when Moses came down his time in God's presence was evident by the condition of his skin, which had a glow to it. It was said that the fact that Israel carried the ark at the front of their army is why they were so successful even when facing difficult odds. The Nazis in the movie wanted that power for Hitler's army; they were so arrogant they thought they could control God's power. In the Bible, it was decreed by God only priests from the house of LEvi could carry the Ark & that no one could actually touch the Ark as the power it contained would kill them, so they had 2 huge poles they used to have 4 men carry it on their shoulders. That power is what burned the swastika off the crate, and it is what melted the Nazis at the end. A lot of the background on the Ark in the movie comes straight out of the Old Testament, largely the book of Exodus. (Exodus 25:10-22, 1 Kings 8:1-11, to start)

The scene you laughed at when Indy shot the guy with the sword in the market has a story to it. It was never meant to go like that, and should have been a fight. However, Harrison was sick that day and by all accounts he just decided to draw his gun and shoot him and the stuntman went along with the improvised action, which is one scene that people remember likely more than they would if it had been a fight. Not sure if I'm certain it really was improv, but either way it's funny because of the whole don't bring a sword to a gun fight joke/meme.

Thanks Asia 🙂

All 3 are there maybe because the tag was wrong you couldn't find it. I fixed the tag. :)

Asia and BJ

You two missed the 2nd Indiana Jones movie the raiders of the last ark, then temple of doom then its the last crusade 🙂

You guys were partially right. The Hitler guy had ONE SIDE of the medallion burned into his hand. HOWEVER, the Medallion had writing on 2 SIDES, hence, the Hitler guy only had HALF of the info necessary for the length of the staff. That's why the Germans were digging in the WRONG PLACE -- they didn't have the info on the OTHER HALF of the Medallion to know how long the staff should be. With regard to your question about the plane making all of the stops before Nepal, that was just to show us where the plane had to refuel. Remember that this took place in the late 1930s or early 1940s during World War II when flying was still relatively new. There weren’t big jumbo jets that could go all the way from the US to Nepal without stopping to refuel. If I recall correctly, the plane left the continental US and stopped in Hawaii first, and then in the Philippines, before arriving in Nepal, before finally going to Cairo, Egypt.

N M

That’s deep! Never looked at it that way.

Indy and Sallah just took off the top of the Sarcophagus, Asia's right. They lifted the ark out, but they never actually opened the ark itself. Also, Sallah was played by John Rhys-Davies, who played Gimli in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Bryan Sproles

Love this movie reaction. I think Marion was on a different truck. When he was on the plane, it was just showing all the different countries he had to travel through to get to his destination. I love this movie. The sequels are great with different story lines. I've been waiting for this reaction. 👏

Mary

BJ is correct, the part with the plane was just showing the flight path; they didn't stop anywhere but Nappal. Also, I think it was because of Raiders & Gremlins the PG-13 rating came into being. Before this there was only G, PG & R ratings.

Kara Davis

Everyone says the spirits at the end are EVIL spirits, but those supernatural beings are from God. That’s God’s power killing everyone who dared disturb the Arc. Indy and Marion were spared because they closed their eyes and didn’t dare look on the power of God, which Biblically has been known to kill people.

Tom Occhipinti

Good choice, this was my favorite for many years. I bet you really enjoyed this one. TOD is the next one and it’s good also, H Ford in Fugitive is also good
