Whoah the year got off to a fast start… it took me a minute to even realize it was February. Hope you’re well and it’s been a productive month!
I’ve been starting to brainstorm an idea for an additional page on the Texturelabs site - something like the “Supporters Showcase”, where Patreon supporters can show a piece of work and a link to their site of social media… still wrapping my head around it, but shoot me a message if you have any thoughts or ideas! I’ll keep you posted…
In the meantime, another month down here at the Texturelab. A couple of new tutorials that I hope will be useful. No new textures this month… the 3d tutorial took ages to create, so I kind of burned all my rocket fuel on that! New textures on the way though, so keep an eye out.

Engraving Technique
This was so much fun to put together. The tutorial moves a bit quickly, but I could have spent ages talking about all the variations you can make to this technique. The real key is getting a grasp of the Hard Mix blending mode… it truly is a secret weapon in Photoshop. I’m definitely planning on a tutorial to explore just how much you can achieve with Hard Mix. Anyways, hope you have fun with this one.
3d Text and Compositing
Truthfully, I dreaded making this tutorial! The Photoshop 3d workspace can be so confusing and even frustrating - it's buggy, and Adobe hasn’t updated the help section on the website in years. But… there’s just so much fun stuff you can do in 3d! If there’s one piece of advice I hope comes across in this video, it’s to be fairly minimal in the 3d workspace, and really take advantage of all the traditional Photoshoppery you can do to elevate an image.
