How to access the Patron-only content

Hello Expert Patrons! Here are the instructions for unlocking the bonus content:

1) Use this link (click Log In With Patreon) OR click the orange lock on texturelabs.org

2) Allow Patreon and Texturelabs to communicate

3) Lossless files will appear under all textures. Tutorial and project files will be at the bottom of their corresponding tutorial pages

TROUBLESHOOTING

Some Adblockers have a setting that will hide social media links, including the Patreon "orange lock"

*Whitelisting the site may help. You may also need to temporarily disable the Social Media Filters in your Adblock settings.

Adblock in Chrome, for example, has two advanced settings called Antisocial Filter List and Fanboy's Annoyances - both of which will hide the Patreon link. Adblock Pro in Safari has a setting called Social that may need to be temporarily disabled.

Some browsers may have security settings preventing Patreon and Texturelabs from communicating

*Safari has a setting called "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking" which may create a conflict. Once the Patreon account is linked up though, you should be fine to turn all those settings back on and remain linked up.

*For Brave Browser users, some Shield settings may need to be adjusted. Under your shield settings for texturelabs.org, changing the cookie settings from All Cookies Blocked to Cross-Site Cookies Blocked should resolve things. If you're a Brave user and find other tips, please let me know, thanks.

SPECIAL NOTE: In some cases, the link between Patreon and Texturelabs has been taking several hours to function properly for new accounts.

*If this happens to you, please let me know so I can continue to troubleshoot. The issue almost always resolves itself within 24 hours. My apologies for the hassle, and in the meantime, I keep the project files in a Google Drive Folder so you can get up and running!

For help accessing the content, please email me at texturelabsorg@gmail.com and I'll figure out what's happening! Thanks, Brady

Hey Lucas, Apologies about that. The system can be pretty infuriating. Part of the move off of Patreon in the upcoming months. The system pretty much always starts working within a few hours (24 at most) but in the meantime, you can always grab any tutorial or bonus files on the Google Drive backup: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cJigz6C-v3H_9wxdY6gR9imD-P9JE2Ml?usp=drive_link Let me know if there are any files I can point you toward in particular, and definitely let me know if it doesn't start working shortly. Sorry for the hassle! -Brady

Hi, I have some trouble for accessing to the content. I paid like 5 minutes ago but doesn't work :(

Happy to support Brady!! btw, i couldnt get on patreon via safari cause I refuse to update..so i'm happy to get back on here (via chrome lol) and happy to keep up the support!!! can't wait for whatever you have next!!

oh man, didn't know you replied but so glad you did!! You are a true Jewel! I'm not sure I, or the community could survive without you! So happy to hear you're still doing it, in any capacity really! I know about that problem of doing too many things at the same time.. shit is too exciting to not right?

Hey Sean, Really appreciate hearing that and your support on here! More than anything else I think I have the problem of trying to do too many things at the same time and find myself going a little bananas. The website, the YouTube channel, the Patreon, and a couple of the Texturelabs extras like the 3D machine plugin - each of them could probably justify putting a full workload of hours into. So, kinda have this gut feeling like I need to narrow it down - in order to actually do more! The good news is that I’m more or less sorting things out so that the “output” of the project will be the same. Tutorials, textures, whatever other resources I can come up with. But I think I can keep it afloat better if I shift the “bonus” Patreon content over to just being part of the Texturelabs site. There are a few little things that I’ve gotta figure how to preserve that are cool about Patreon - like the early access and the sense of community. But, working through those ideas now. Anyways, long answer to a short question :) but I think it’ll all be good… and make the project more sustainable long term. Which is the ultimate goal! Thanks again and cheers man!

Patreon only active for a few more months? Does this mean you are moving to another similar service (I hope!) Please explain! I am sure many of us will miss your incredible resource and early access to the videos!

Cool glad to hear it did link up! Looking into which of those services might be able to handle transfers at scale.

So to summarize creating a bulk download would be a hit of ~$14 for each download with your current AWS plan? That's unfortunate because as you said about tempering/throttling download, that is just trickling down to your patrons in the form of inconveience. Perhaps a storage situation similar to Google Drive where you're not charged for download bandwidth might be a solution for you? (not expecting you to solve this, just discussing) (oh and the sites are now connected btw, thanks)

Hey Thadeous! Really sorry about the Patreon issue... I'm glad the google drive has helped. It's a tricky one - seems to be a built-in problem with Patreon (and their website plugin)... I may have to abandon ship on Patreon at some point. Kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place! On the upside, it should start working shortly! In regards to the textures, I hear ya. I'd like to create bulk access to the textures at some point, however there would be no way to do it that wouldn't be quite a bit more expensive. Everything is stored using Amazon Web Services (the cheapest way to transfer data), though if someone was to download everything on the site right now, it would cost about $14 just for the data transfer. Part of my plan this year is to create some "one-off" products on the site. I'm hoping to make a bulk download one of those - just gotta figure out how to do it! Sorry to not have an easier solution, but tempering the downloads is part of how the whole thing stays afloat :)

I seem to be having the Patreon linking issue as well. I actually like the Google drive though, it made it very easy to download all the tutorials at once. I actually joined your Patreon hoping you had an easy download for the Textures as well. Is there an easier way to download than by clicking 1 by 1 on the website? With the hundreds of textures you have, that would be *very* time consuming. Appreciate any help you can give.

TB

Merry Christmas and Happy new year to you and your family and friends

Hey Zhi, sorry, what a drag, sorry about that! I can see the site did create an account for you.. which tells me the problem is possibly not with Patreon, but with the hosting provider. Interesting... I'm gonna raise hell with them again in the New Year. For now, the login should start working shortly - and in the meantime, you can find that file in the google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cJigz6C-v3H_9wxdY6gR9imD-P9JE2Ml?usp=share_link The project file you referenced is called Texturelabs_PurpleHazeTemplate.zip Do let me know if the login doesn't start working shortly. Apologies again, and thank you! -Brady

I can't find the download for this ..... https://youtu.be/8D4DNNJ_uN8 I can't get acess either

Hey Lenny, sorry for the hassle.... After all this time, I STILL can't track down why that's happening (Patreon and hosting provider are both blaming each other!). However, it does always seem to start working at some time the same day. Apologies for the hassle, and in the meantime, you can always find any of the project files in the Google Drive here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cJigz6C-v3H_9wxdY6gR9imD-P9JE2Ml?usp=share_link Or let me know if you need me to upload a lossless texture or anything like that!

HI! Just joined today, don't seem to be able to access Patreon-exclusive content on your landing page; the lock isn't functional for me. Any way around this?

Thanks! I'll give it a go today!

Jaq Greenspon

Hey Jaq, no worries, they actually do make it a little tricky! Double clicking and file>open both don't work... but you should be able to drag the grd or pat files to photoshop and that will load them into your presets. Or the most bulletproof way would be to open you gradient or pattern panel in Photoshop, then the little three-bar menu at the top of those panels has an Import option. Let me know if you run into any problems there!

As a new member, can I ask a really stupid question? How do I load the .grd and .pat files into photoshop?

Jaq Greenspon

Hey, sorry for the hassle... apparently the 1st of the month is when Patreon has the most lag time... Will follow up with you by email and make sure its working!

i just joined and the link between Patreon and TextureLabs doesn't seem to work for the moment, but thank for all your textures and tutorials !

Ha right on, thanks so much Rocket Queen! Glad to have you on board

Hiya, Brady! I think you are so talented and YOU ROCK!!

Just messaged, you can find it here if the site is taking a minute to catch up! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cJigz6C-v3H_9wxdY6gR9imD-P9JE2Ml?usp=share_link

Hi did you find the download link ?

Everybody Loves Brady!

where i can download the project file of (Create Mind-Bending Effects with this Hidden Effect in After Effects!) from texturelabs ?

hello

:)

Uh oh, that’s frustrating! I have a direct link here where all of the Photoshop and AE project files live: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1cJigz6C-v3H_9wxdY6gR9imD-P9JE2Ml However, the only way to get all of the lossless textures and have the stuff show up on the site is to get the Patreon log in working. Do you have a few more details on what it looks like when you can’t access it and I can try to figure out what’s happening? Thanks!

I can't seem to access this content on any browser. Is there a direct link I can use?

Awesome, glad to see ya, thanks Sean!

Happy to be here!!

No problem at all, its my pleasure! Yeah, I have deactivated all of the shields and ad blocks from Brave, and with 2 or 3 attempts to login via Patreon on your site it worked. Thanks again, and I am looking forward for any new content! I am exited to learn new After Effects tips and tricks from you! Cheers!

Ah great! I was just in the midst of trying to see what might be happening. Any idea what the key was to getting it working? Thanks for supporting the project!

Somehow I have achieved to login with my Patreon profile and unlock the features!

Hey, hello all! I am using the Brave browser and I have a similar problem. I am clicking on the orange look (and I am logged in via Patreon), but it still doesn't seem to unlock the content. Any help? Thanks in advance

Cool, good to know. And thank you!

I totally understand. I've been attempting to move away from Chrome but Firefox is proving to be a bit glitchy on a number of sites, Patrion included. You might mention it on your Patrion page so people know they may run into problems. As an aside, I love your videos. Keep up the good work! :)

Thanks for the heads up! It's a tough one - the ability to link up with the site is such a great feature that Patreon offers, but it only works juuuuust well enough to justify using it. I've gone through some Reddit threads from Patreon creators - these issues seem to be very common. Hopefully it'll only get better... but it's good hear what solutions worked along the way, so I appreciate you posting!

I wasn't able to get in either but got it figured out. I was using Firefox and it didn't work. Once I switched to Chrome it was fine. Hope that helps!

Hey Davi, can't find the orange lock? If so, there must be something hiding it... just a matter of figuring out what.... hope I can help. Which browser are you using, any extensions or is it a work computer and may have some special settings installed? -Brady

i cant find any. really frustrating. seems like no one is commenting on this either so I don't know what to do

Very cool! I'm also hoping (not just for my own sake) that the practice of direct support of content online will become more and more popular. Seems like the advertising model has created a bit of a mess with the internet... In any case, much appreciated!

I'm a believer in the idea that we can create the kind of world we want to live in by our actions. I want to live in the kind of world that rewards creative people for giving their brilliance to the world. So I often end up paying for shareware I find valuable, and supporting this project on Patreon was an easy decision. Such great stuff here!

Hi, Trace Meek here. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, USA. But moved to the relatively rural western part of Massachusetts in 1988. In my day job I'm a lead web designer and graphics guy at a large company. I do a little video too, and a lot of photography. But I'm always trying to scratch that art itch (including graphic design). I love the work of Shepard Fairey, and the tutorial about doing that style of treatment to a photo caught my eye on YouTube.
