The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update+ 01/Nov/2024

Chapter 5 writing is finished! And I even began editing!!

I forgot I had to write variations for the end scene of this chapter with the different love interests, but even with that I managed to get it finished! :D

I loved all the scenes, but there was one particular scene that I super enjoyed!

So, if you’re not on the Bobby or Douglas story branches, you get a different branch altogether. As with the Tina and Verda branches, if you choose not to tell either of them, you are on the ‘chill’ story branch, as I like to call it, hehe! It’s the same for the Bobby and Douglas branches. If you don’t go for either of those, then you get this ‘chill’ story branch instead.

This will be where I get to go into a bit more about lore or characters or even the MC’s father!

I wanted to offer a couple of story branches that were more relaxed as the main story itself can be quite intense (especially in Books 4 and 5!), so for those wanting to just enjoy the main story without being overwhelmed by side stories too, then these options are there.

And it was amazing fun to bring back an old character and have the choice to dive more into lore (or Rook…).

Next week, I’ll be keeping up editing with this chapter with the goal of finishing that.

Then it’ll be straight onto Chapter Six—a chapter where A LOT of intensity is happening, but in the most deliciously angsty ways possible…hehe! ;D

For Update+ this week, I wanted to give a snippet of Douglas’s story branches, and how the MC’s decisions can change things up quite a bit!

IF DOUGLAS WENT HOME

I'd chosen the former. Sending him back to his old life must help provide some stability.

…Or so I hoped.

And although the man before me is definitely more man than kid, grizzled and grown, he also seems so…empty. His posture is hunched, his clothes rumpled, and his expression drawn and weary.

IF DOUGLAS STAYED WITH THE AGENCY

It's a strange sensation for a moment when I spot Douglas because he still looks so very Douglas and yet…not.

Even with the physical differences, that's not what catches me by surprise the most.

It's that he seems happy.

I will note as always, that there are NO wrong choices in Wayhaven! Just different paths. Some choices may lead to unexpected branches…!
