There tons of great anime past 50 episodes but if you look at it per episode, at least in my opinion, it is the best. Lots of great animes have fillers and dips in quality. This one has no fat, just perfection. The direction in the background, the symbolism, just everything was a love letter for the creator and the fans. I remember reading that the writer cried after seeing the final episodes because of how well it was put together after the hiatus.

Her future was cut short, and none of her new friends can understand that. She doesn't belong here.
