The Strange fake scene with both of them using their gates is far more impressive. The “panoramic” part is extremely difficult to do in the 2D style A1 uses. Its far more difficult to do then what SL did. Im extremely curious to see how Strange Fake ends up looking, since the Gilgamesh Enkidu fight is literally just a reunion clash for fun between the characters. The “speed” ur referring to isnt as impressive as your making it out do be. All the “fastest” movements and moments during the fights involve the characters not actually being animated; like I said it looks cool and makes it seem crazy, but its an extremely common shortcut when animating a fight. Majority of the fight involves perspective changes from person to the next to make it significantly easier to animate while still looking nice to the average viewer. The fight almost barely has both characters on screen with all their movements clearly visible and depictable The moments they are clashing and can see BOTH characters themselves fighting with all the movements of the body being animated is like 5ish seconds of the total fight, the speed is fast yes, but its not egregiously fast like you make it seem. Dont get me wrong its all preference and how much animation someone has actually consumed, and as great as this fight looked, its far from being like one of the greatest from a pure animation standpoint I prefer the SAO style simply because of the actual detailing and overall drawing quality. Its slower sure, but the actual detailing is significantly higher then SL. Its preference at the end of the day.

I'd say it's more like he's playing with his food in this fight than struggling, the most difficult portion of this fight for Sung is literally when he has to wait for the detox. That's it. Outside of that he meets the Ant King blow-for-blow and effectively lets AK dictate what they'll competing in. Like, aside from the brawlfest and cheek cut, do you remember any point in the fight where Sung takes damage? Cause I don't! He's still in charge the whole fight aside from the one underhanded tactic used by AK and then he has Mutilate and the fight is literally over as soon as he gets it maxed. As soon as that happens, AK keeps trying to escape only to have Sung just go "yeah, lol, nope!" So I'd say Sung was just flexing on the Ant King the whole fight.

Not trying to discredit what you’re saying. SAO has fantastic animation, but the speed at which the fight scenes happen and the movements are slower in general, so it’s easier to animate and look crisp. I just watched the fight scene in Strange Fake with Gilgamesh and Enkidu and the movements in that aren’t nearly as complicated which is why it looked as good as it did. Both characters stood in one spot while flashing lights and explosions occurred around them. When you have 2 high speed characters doing flips and complicated movements, the animation is gonna be a little choppy because each frame is completely different. People are saying Jinwoo vs the ant is the best they’ve seen because even though the characters are moving so fast, you can still tell exactly what’s happening which is very hard to do. Not to even mention the god tier OST that plays just enhances the scene to a new level.

Anyone who was complaining about A1 is quite frankly just a basic/casual anime enjoyer. They dont see MAPPA, Ufotable, etc and are instantly turned off. I honestly prefer the latest SAO animations, especially in the progressive movies the last few years. The frames and sequences in those those movies are substantially harder to do then SL. Dont get me wrong SL looks good, but Im not a fan when fighters just become a beam of light clashing, doesnt look good to me, and is a pretty common shortcut for animators when making fight scenes. Then you also have stuff like Strange Fake, which looks phenomenal (imo better). The scene with all the gates firing weapons is flat out ridiculous considering the 2D style
