2025-03-15 19:57:05 +0000 UTCApart from that i think Heinkel is probably the best character out of them, but i somehow feel that the anime did him dirty. His characterization is quite vague to say the least. The light novel explains him him better i think. Have not read it though

His actions and words made Reinhard the way he is. His duty as the Sword Saint comes first and as Puck once said "You are a hero Reinhard, but a hero is all you can be". In the end he changed nothing. If anything he did it worse.The last scene basically showed Wilhem disowning Reinhard for "killing" Theresia without any emotion or remorse

The main reason they dislike this episode is because the WN/LN chapters for this episode were also named "Theresia van astrea" and are alot of peoples favourite chapters. As a reader its also my favourite chapter ive read, and I think the episode was good (had to go back and reread after watching again); but the episode does cut and condense a lot of it. Like I said, the episode was good, but the source material for this episode was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Thats the main reason alot of people "disliked" it

Wilhelm wanted to find some connection with grandson, thought that he was also grieving for his grandmother. It was literally - "You are right, but i don't see how we can understand each other". In some way Reinhard became a empty shell too, just in hands of Hero and Justice concept.

There are three ways to say love: Suki, Daisuki, and Aishiteru, each in order of how much you love something. Theresia wanted him to say Aishiteru. This phrase is a very big deal for Japanese people because culturally they are a very shy people, they do not use that phrase very often at all even with their lovers. The heaviness of the phrase was too much for Wilhelm because he has trouble expressing himself with words. Hope that clarifies a bit, it's a cultural thing.

He understands that and calls Reinhard by his title as The Sword Saint and continues to bury Theresia"s remains as Reinhard should be headed elsewhere. Where was ANY point of that scene supposed to show he keeps distance to Reinhard like he's the worst?! He said he's wrong with no deception and most people couldn't even tell that.

We finally got a answer why everyone remembers Theresia if she was killed by White Whale. It was Pandora all this time. Meaning that Wilhelm rage and revenge against Whale was kinda for nothing( Beatiful but bittersweet resolution for Wilhelm and Theresia story. Astrea family drama, Wilhelm got a chance to say his final goodbye to wife, but completely lost his grandson, Reinhard became a justice tool with supressed humanity, Heinkel is broken man filled with despair and regrets, who fears his son and don't understand father. Best episode of season for me and one of the best in series. Idc about LN readers yapping, episode by itself has everything - lore, emotions, god tier characters development, music, visuals. And now we are entering the finish line of this arc.
